Letting go of my grip a little on rock (not entirely, though, never entirely) and liking me some techno, anyone care to point me in the right direction beyond Darude and Basshunter?

Raise your head up! by PIMP! CODE
I personally like the radio edit better than the regular version

    Never heard of it.

    So, semi-helpful replies. Any others?

    Some of my faves:

    Tiesto
    Armin van Buuren
    Rank 1
Shakta (currently near the top of my favourite list)
Sunscreem (more dancy, but one of the few techno/dance bands that can cut it live)
    Yahel
    Antiloop
    Stoneface & Terminal
808 State (classic, seminal techno, but stick with the first 4 wide release albums (Ninety (or United: 90), EX:EL, Gorgeous, Don Solaris); they get a bit weird and out there around about Outpost Transmission, and of their earliest stuff, Newbuild is impossible to find and Quadrastate was a club members-only release)
    Alex M.O.R.P.H.
ATB (more dancey/commercial/pop dance/trance but he has some good tracks)
    Blank & Jones
    Cygnus X
    The Grid
Junkie XL (good stuff on his own but he also modernizes a lot of classic rock and reggae tunes; you've probably heard his version of Elvis Presley's "A Little Less Conversation")
    M.I.K.E.
    Paul van Dyk
    Psycraft

Most of these bands are on iTunes, though a few are indies who might take more searching, but they all have stuff worth checking out.

If you want some good techno, check out Deadmau5 :)

  19. He's more house than anything. I didn't mind Random Album Title but it was a little too sparse for my tastes.
