Posting this because again, it has me curious about the direction Kemco is headed. First the addition of optional IAPs. Then their first free-to-play. Now their first ad-supported version of one of their RPGs. Wondering if they're struggling financially or what? Strange to see them head in this direction as some of my favorite RPG companies.

Kemco may or may not be struggling financially, but you can bet their executives are under constant pressure to improve their numbers...

I feel they slit their own throats with their everything 99¢ sale last winter as now everybody who knows anybody who knew about that sale, will be waiting for their next winter sale.

    During that winter sale:
Revenue dropped from $9.99 to 99¢ per title. That is a 90% drop! (prices approximate as I am converting to USD)

Following that, sales for those titles will dry up for the forseable future as gamers who want them had either bought them during the sale, or are waiting for this year's winter sale.

Seen in that light, shifting to consumable IAPs and adware seems to be the only way Kemco can remain solvent...
