Just wonderin' here after watching the Saints vs Vikings game on Sunday... even though they turned the ball over 5 times the Vikes were still in it in OT, until the refs made 3 terrible calls. The Thomas first down on 4th and 1, the Pass Interference on that uncatchable ball and the Meachem catch to set them up in FG range... What do you guys think?

If you say "Vikes lost 'cause they turned it over 5 times," I've heard that already. I want to know if the Vikes got screwed over (not lost the game) on those calls.

Well, personally I'm a Packers fan. That being said, I did want the Vikings to win just to see ol' Brett go to one last super bowl. Anyway, those calls were very strange. Also there were some calls in the 3rd and 4th quaters against the Saints that were missed. I do want the Saints to win the super bowl (mainly because they haven't won it before) but it's Total luck they have made it this far.

Yes, they got screwed but then again I am a Vikings fan. Most reports I have watched question all three calls in overtime, especially the uncatchable ball, as there appears to be no contact.

I am still amazed that they turned the ball over that many times and still had a chance to win.

Oh well, a lot of my family is from the New Orleans area, so they are pretty excited.

The refs couldn't even get video replayed calls right during the game. They clearly wanted the Saints to win; however, Farve still could have one the game before OT.

Refs arent perfect and their calls are questioned nearly every postseason game. Nothing can be changed.

With that being said though the only true bad call was where it should have been uncatchable.

No. This is old. Get over it.

Doesn't matter anyway the Colts would have beat them if they did make the Super Bowl.

Yes they did, I am a Falcons fan and would have loved to have seen the Saints lose. The Viking can makes valid points about how they got screwed, but in the end they deserved to losed with all those turnovers. In the end it won't matter though cause the Colts are gonna hand it Saints which they would to the Vikings as well

The Vikings got screwed, but they did a fair share screwing themselves with all the turnovers. And Favre's interception was terrible. They should never have been in OT in the first place. Take that all into account, and the Vikings got what they deserved.

true, if they just ran it on that 3rd and 15 to get a couple more yards for the feild goal it would have been better and the Vikings would won. That was a very fatal error, i wonder why it was not a run. So weird. Because of that the Saints deseved to win, even though there were some bad calls

YYESSSSS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I was so mad watching that game!!!!!!!!! Dude, the OT calls weren't what ruined us, it was the one "touchdown" that Reggie Bush had. My family and I watched the game at my uncle's house, and everyone agreed that it wasn't a touchdown. The ball barely went over the corner of the marker... It never entered the end zone. They made the right call at first, but then during review they called it a touchdown... had that never happened, Vikings would have won. Then during OT, during the play when the Saint's running back (don't know his name) tried to jump the pile of players and they called it a first down. He never made it. And yet, they called it a first down. I don't even understand why they had to do a booth review since the call wasn't overturned...

I'm going to blame this on one thing though. It's how cheap the Saints are. 3 late hits at the least. Well, 3 big ones. And Favre was hit 15 times. He was playing great at the beginning of the game, but after that play where he handed the ball off and was watching the play unfold, a defender came out of nowhere and landed a cheap shot right in the ribs. He gave Favre a helmet to the ribs. He noticeably played worse after that. That's when most of the interceptions occurred, right after that. And then they went for his knees, and took out his ankle for a few. He seemed to be fine, but it threw off his game even more. I blame it on that, and that stupid holding thing that Asher Allen did at the end of the game... giving them an automatic first down was the worst thing that could happen, even worse than the interception at the end of the 4th quarter.

Suffice to say, it was an awful game for us Minnesota fans. I may have only started really getting into it this season, but man was I mad at that game. Let's see the Colts crush the Saints on Superbowl Sunday... I'm sure it'll happen too. If the Saints were as good as they're supposed to be, they would have destroyed the Vikings with 5 interceptions... but they couldn't.

Yeah, this is probably really biased coming from a Minnesota fan...

    Hi,

Yes, some calls in OT were questionable.

But for much of the game, including an awful roughing the passer call, were going against the Saints.

To just look at the OT and not look at the whole game is just tunnel vision.

The Vikings and Favre self destructed and Favre has a history of this happening in big games.

To blame OT and calls made there for losing is just excusing the players for bad execution.

If the Saints had lost, their fans would have just as much to complain about, as far as calls by the refs.

I think that Favre was just destined to lose this one. Through the whole game he was getting pounded, limping around, trying to act like Rocky Balboa, but it just wasn't meant to be, at least thats the feeling I got from the 2nd quarter on. Close game though, a classic. I have no idea who's gonna win the superbowl, although a while back(Nov) I picked the Saints to win it all.

The pylon IS the end zone, according to the rules. As long as it goes over that, even if only just, it's a touchdown.

First off, he doesn't cross the marker originally because the guy's helmet knocks it back. Then he loses control when it's knocked back (ball moving = loss of control) and doesn't regain it until he lands, a yard short of the 1st down marker.

Look at where the retarded ref marked it.

Yeah... we would have at least had a chance if that wasn't a first down... stupid ref...

As for the touchdown thing, I thought it had to actually enter the end zone itself, not just cross the marker thing. My bad. Again, I'm really just starting to get into the sport compared to many, and I hadn't seen that sort of thing happen yet.

No problem. Just passing on knowledge. There are a billion things that I learn every season; it just never ends, as they constantly are changing the rules, penalties, etc.

A Vikings-Colts Superbowl would have been so much better.

I am glad the Saints made it. I actually played against and beat Reggie Bush in High School. Now, he is my favorite player and I am a huge Saints fan. But the Colts and Vikings a better game? Come on now? The Saints have the #1 Offense in the NFL period. They have way to many weapons and cannot be stopped. They have shut down 4th Quarter D as well.

On any other day I would have been rooting Favre on, but not when its against my team.

As far as the Bush Touchdown goes. It was for sure a touchdown. I thought I read saw some one say it wasn't? The PI was crazy. It was an un-catchable pass without a doubt. BUT, you can eaily prevent that from happening.

PS. Adrian Peterson is a beast. A guy who runs with mad aggression and I love it. But, when is he going to learn to hang on to the ball? If I am in the NFC Championship game there is no way in HELL I am letting that ball come loose.

Saints are also going to knock out the Colts in the Super Bowl! Even without Shockey! :]

Vikings shut down the Saints' "#1 Offense" and got 200 more yards. The Vikings beat them in every facet of the game except points, but unfortunately that also included turnovers.

And the reason AP fumbled so much was because a screw came out of his bionic arm.

Better in my eyes, perhaps. Austin Collie (Colts Receiver) played for my college team (BYU FTW), and seeing him pitted against Favre's offense would have been awesome.

Saints may have had the No. 1 offense, but they're slipping. For all the mistakes the Vikings made, the Saints didn't make it hard to catch up. They lost a few of their last games down the stretch because of offensive failure. The Colts lost when they pulled their starters, and they've pulverized every team they've come in contact with when Manning's got the ball. I'm not even a Colts fan and I can see this.

Fourth Quarter Defense isn't gonna matter a bit if the Colts score 41 points in the first three quarters, now, is it? The Colts D will easily take care of the Saints' offense, since Bush is getting a bit too cocky and Shockey's out. Brees is tiny influence-wise when placed alongside Manning.

I have $20 on the Colts, which I guess it's a good thing the Vikings lost because I would be terrified to bet on either team.
