Big fan of simplistic games on iPhone/iPad devices. I do however think simple games need to strive for great graphics.... You guys hit it out of the park. Want more information on this one. - iProdigy
They definitely did! But like I say, great graphics does not a great game make! Game play wins out every time! Eye candy is always nice, but without game play, graphics are redundant!
Noted! Thank you very much iProdigy. By the way, only one guy is creating this game. Yes, I'm a lonely loner on a lonely road... alone. Absolutly.
Pretty damn impressive if I say so myself! Totally has it going on! Pretty amazing! Excited for this release!
Oh wow this game looks beautiful! Will be keeping an eye on it does it play in landscape mode or portrait?
Do you mean this week in 8 months or this week right now? ^^ Yes! The joystick is alive... yes it is. I named it the creature of Frankenstick until I decide if I keep it alive or replace it with a better creature! @bigrand1 Big thanks! Thank you squashy. Your name fits perfectly to the context! The game will be in portrait mode on mobile devices.
The plan was a release within the next two months. May the gods of the abyss help me hold this plan. The hardest thing about making your very first game is to be able to know how much time things will take, and when you do many things for the first time that's just impossible. Being a one man team isn't helping either. There's nobody to replace you in case something blocks your way (like a black cat, extra-terrestrial flu, etc). Luck factor at its best. @Shining Jade - Thank you! Yes, Seashine will be universal. No need for a wifi connection at all. You will be able to run Seashine on the iPad 1, so iOS 5.1.1 will be the oldest iOS version able to run it (if Apple or Unity doesn't change anything in the meantime regarding 5.1.1 support). I've spent quite some time optimizing the game to keep the best balance between graphics and performance. Any old midware should be able to run it smoothly. At the moment, the game scores an average of 45fps on the old iPad 1.
dark fantasy finding nemo this game reminds me finding nemo in such a pleaseant way. me likes the dark feel.
Hi everybody! I'm coming with some updates about Seashine (sorry for the little silence, it's been really busy!). First, the final control scheme is in place. Thanks to you guys and your recommandations on avoiding tilt controls and with the feedback from my testers, Seashine has now a far better control scheme. You'll now have to swipe in the direction you want to make the cute creature swim in that direction. It also allows you to swim downwards (you could only fall if you wanted to go down before the changes). However, by making these changes I had to rework the animations and some parts of the gameplay, forcing me to delay the release of Seashine once again. I'm now targetting April 2015. Here are examples of the new controls and animations (the gifs seem to play too fast for some reason, sorry): The second big change is the end of the "level" mode. Levels are now integrated as secrets inside the survival mode. I came back to a single gamemode to keep things simple and save some time. If you have any questions, don't hesitate! You mean the anglerfish scene in Nemo I suppose. Thank you good sir! Thanks Shining Jade. I really hope you'll like it.
Glad you moved away from tilt controls. Those usually break a game for me. But I'm curious why you chose swipe versus simply tapping? Is the swiping where you can keep your finger on the screen and lead the jellyfish? Or do you have to keep making small swipes?
