Yup. 3 is kind of a limit on Ai - then it gets confused. But even with some of the other multiple shark battles >= 3 - i'm not using this exact combination. The dogfish are very elusive and go off into so many directions that its just way too hard in combination. A little bit of the variability (no lock on) for the stun in the AI actually helps with the challenge. I have to make sure its not a 100% kill every time if I ramp it up. They way I crafted the ai right now is with the span of the dolphin's vision - so its real in a sense. If he can barely see the shark - he can still hone in - and it tapers off.
Now in addition to that being a good marketing strategy, i think its fair both for the consumers and the developers since without the support going to the developers, there would be no great games like this. Good luck with the development!
Thank you. In the wild, Orcas play with their food. Actually that's an understatement. They toss seals around like volleyballs. I was thinking of "shark toss" which has a strong animal behavior basis - you bite, hold the bite, jump, and see how far you can toss. I will have to play with the mechanic to see if it holds up. In general I want to put out a few more properties in the next 4 or 5 weeks, including the endless game, a jump-only game, and maybe a toss or something.
Thats a wonderful idea. I've seen videos of Orcas coordinating their attacks while hunting seals by creating waves to push the seal on the iceberg into the water. High intelligent creatures and great predators yet they rarely seem to attack humans. Would you consider teamwork mode which would have friendly AIs as well as enemy AIs? Kind of like a skirmish mode. Also, shark toss would be hilariously great.
Thank you all Its an experience that has a lot of time and love inherent in it. Eventually it will rise to the top once it hits a critical mass- though that may require more polish and updates. The statistics are interesting - there is a sizable percentage of players who play for > 1hr a day. Thats some serious time. With the update - I'm also noticing people "pass through" that learning hump better and continue through to get into deep blue (cards). Before - there was this wall and many players just gave up. I think Apple should do a separate section purely for no IAP no Ad devs and set the tier 1 pricing higher. Needs to be a section for that.
This game is simply amazing. Fluid motions, on edge excitement, unique gameplay. It's full of fun. Playing it on my IPhone 5 with 60 fps and i'm not going to be putting it down anytime soon. Not to mention that there's no IAP or ads whatsoever, just a satisfying and premium game. Its gameplay is essentially you chasing down, fighting, then eating your prey in an arcade style scenario. There are a variety of sea creatures varying from common fish such as the Mullet to large and horrifying great white sharks but nevertheless, the gameplay is amazing. I recommend this game for people who enjoy fast-paced, arcadey, aquatic, realistic, and challenging games or really to anybody because this game is bottom-line fun. It's also educational in some aspects too. From playing 3 hours of it continuously, my verdict is a 9/10. Gameplay is always fun and has large amounts of replay value. Thanks, DolphinDude for the code ! But beware, this game is very challenging at some points so try your best.
