They actually work rather well. The environments look great. You’re character even better The sound is probably the best part. You have to play this with headsets or earbuds. The gameplay is fun and challenging. I get a really strong Metroid vibe playing It actually brings me back to playing Metroid for the first time as a kid I’m think I’m exactly where you are but haven’t figured it out yet. Possibly best graphics I ever saw on iOS and then some, still have to find my jaw. Can’t believe it runs so well on iPhone X....shadows, lights, blur, focus, animations...everything. Game is a glorious Metroidvania with huge emphasis on exploration (and deadly fights....those damn sword sharks!!!). Has a slightly higher learning curve than your average game but it’s totally worth it. Sound design is awesome as well. I *THINK* I'm at the end (last boss?) but it was downright GLORIOUS from start to now, with nice puzzles, incredible exploration, memorable bosses and a lifelike immense world. I’m stuck right at the beginning having no idea what to do. Everything starts to freeze so I’m naturally trying to escape. Taking a route to the right, which shortly after I’m failing to continue and falling deeper, collecting some sea weed along the way. But eventually the freezing catches up on me and game over. So I died like 10 times already, a few seconds after I barely started. I already did rage quit twice, deleted the game and re-downloaded it again. With the same scenario. So before my last attempt and ruining the game for myself completely, I’m rather asking ... WTF am I suppose to do?! You can find some youtube videos of people playing first hour if that can help. Without spoiling things....your first objective is....survive...ie staying away from freezing waters and gathering useful things (the game introduces things slowly....but in no time you will gather components, build things that you use to solve 'puzzles' and go deeper and deeper and deeper while empowering your suit). Then you will start to put together the pieces of the big puzzles....down to last glorious plot twist. There will be things you won't understand at first...don't worry....sooner or later you will come back and everything will be clear. As for freezing waters...check the map...maybe you are just missing a way out of the freezing zone. That would be weird actually to need help right from the beginning, but it’s the case I guess. Anyway, I checked like 3 videos and it seems I wasn’t dying because the freezing that eventually catches up on me but I dived into the red water I guess? It’s strange. It looks like the freezing isn’t following the other guys, only me. I also don’t recall red water at all. Could it be there was some sort of patch released lately? I’ll check version history on the App Store for that. That being said, I’m gonna give it another try in the light of recent circumstances and new information. I’m curious if it goes better this time. Or what could I be doing wrong to struggle so much right at the beginning. At 0.18 and at 0.26 the game tells you how to jump and that using thrusters consumes oxygens, and there is an arc of lights that if you follow will have you land on the bubbles from the crack on the terrain...that is your target. Jump from the cliff and use a bit of thrust to follow the lights and land on the bubbles. That will replenish fully your tank. Hope it helps!!!! It took roughly 10 hrs, but considering that I took my time and stuck in a particular stage for 3 hrs, I'd say 5-7 hrs would be fine.
Finished and it was enjoyable. Very surprising this one did not make much more noise than others. very interesting game which is worth the experience!
