Gamedesign Update from the BigBeardedBloodironyBoss Hi folks and Star Shooters, I just want to give you a quick update on the state of the game. We are currently in the finishing phase of development and I am balancing the game big time. All the feedback I got from you over this forum, via mail and over Testflight is helping me to achieve a polished and balanced game at launch. I read every comment and is taken seriously. The game will get way better because of you. A big THANK YOU for playing, caring and getting involved. I value your efforts, that you send detailed feedback, suggestions and your opinion. Now let me sum up what is happening right now, very close to launch: Balance: We had a way too easy beta in March and have a way too hard beta right now. But that is exactly what helps me to balance Shooting Stars for an enjoyable experience at launch. Currently I tweak all the levels, items and especially the bossfights and our internal testers give feedback, that the balance improves every day. Content: more bosses more enemies more active items more passive items additonal backgrounds polished and improved effects of items additonal backgrounds (maybe) gamecenter and google play integration highscore view with your gamecenter friends way more soundeffects Quality of Life Improvements: a pause button that works and let's you take care of real life things controls received a heavy overhaul settings for music adjustment, languages and another control option (direct and relative) Bugfixes: bosses that not shoot, shoot now acitve items that could not be activated are fixed the game works now also if you are offline problems with heart and shield ui a lot of other small issues fixed You guys are awesome. Thank you for playing. Expect a crazy and balanced shmup fest with lots items, effects, bossfights and a healthy amount of random on your mobile device in July. Michael

Well, we are super happy and pretty stoked to announce that we are joining forces with those lovely folks for the release of Shooting Stars. haha, sorry for that. But if you manage to beat the game you'll receive the title "king of the world, the galaxy and everything else" We have already considered this option, but beating Justin Belieber that easy is like stealing candy from a three year old. It probably tastes good but it's not satisfying at all.
Noodlecake Partnership Yes the rumours are true! We are teaming up with Bloodirony on Shooting Stars like Stefan said and I couldnt be more excited. We have been loving the beta and everything about the game since day one. Then we met the team via Skype and knew right away these were the types of devs we wanted to work with. Our goal is to help them out as much as we can to really make Shooting Stars the best it can be. I think you guys are going to really love the final game.
Pause screen says what the passive items do... Good thing a pause button is being added! (Currently, you can pause by pressing your device's home button. It'll be paused when you go back into the game. Or, staying still and waiting a few seconds pauses, but it's usually not fast enough to pause without getting hit by something. So, yeah, good thing there's going to be a pause button.)
Thanks for posting the update Michael. I am really glad that Shooting Stars will be a premium game, which makes it an instant buy for me. I am really looking forward to the release. By the way bloody Awesome team-up.
Sounds good and I like the sound of the joint venture. I've been really enjoying the Beta build and hope and feel like the game could becomes something really big!
I crave beta testing 0-0 (will there be skins that are implemented in the game? Seems we need a different kitty or tescherno in awhile)

We really love to hear that. A couple of months ago we had to decide wich type of monetization we're going to use for Shooting Stars. And even though the overall setting may allow us to add tons and tons of f2p or freemium features, we have decided for various reasons to go for a pro-player approach – pay once and play! We are really hoping that the community thinks the same way you do and supports Shooting Stars and us! We really appreciate that. If you would like some more details on our decision. I I wrote an article back then, describing the situation. Haha, we hope so too! We are super excited about the whole thing. We will send out new beta invites soon. Yes, we were thinking of adding new characters like a female Tschernette (name to be discussed ), skins and much more. Unfortunately, those features won't be available in the first version of Shooting Stars. But don't worry we have lots of great (and not so great) ideas for upcoming releases. Haha, yes! If you are on a battlefield against evil aliens, ride with style! I love the idea of a Pitbull hoverboard. Btw. Our big bad bearded boss Michael streamed a Shooting Stars session on Unicorns.io yesterday. You can watch the ~40min stream here. I am absolutely loving this game! Right at the top of all the ship shooter games except this has humor and unexpected surprises. Beta testing has been a treat. Pause button is a plus.i don't think the game is too hard. Sometimes it gets difficult as it should be. I will totally recommend this crazy, fun shooter!
Thank you so much Since the release date is coming closer pretty fast, we have released a new beta with lots of new stuff. If you want to join the beta test feel free to sign up on our website until latest this Friday! We won't add new beta testers after Friday. If you are an existing beta tester, please play as much as possible with different setups. We need every feedback and especially bug report we can get! Since i'm still a bit overwhelmed with all the good random things happening on screen, i only see the combo-meter but i'm still not able to trace my score. Is it too early to ask for a clarification of the scoring system. Somehow i'm ok if it's not the deepest one. Sometimes i resurrect or not, even if i have a those grey vests in the upper left corner. Do they affect the resurrection or only lessen a direct hit to my lifes/hearts? So far the resurrection only happened once per game, what i highly would appreciate in the final version. Well, i guess this all comes down to the pay-model you will finally go with. I sent you all my feedback by Testflight already, so i hope it's ok for you when i ask somthing here as well. Otherwise tell me, please.
AWWW Hey, thanks for your feedback. You're totally right, the combo system is currently a bit confusing and we will make some changes to make it a lot easier to understand. Basically, the combo-meter you see at the bottom of your screen is the amount of kills you've made while taking no damage. If you take damage it starts at 0 again the highest combo counts. At the highscore overview you're able to see how many different things you've picked up/killed and how many points you get for each. It should be the same with the combos but there is a bug that shows you the final sum instead of the calculation. Yes the resurrection may be a bit unexpected... but hey, no one actually expects to resurrect in real life either You have picked up the devilsfruit which grants you a second chance and gives you one heart and a shield. But be careful, you won't be able to pick up shields and hearts after the resurrection.
LOL that's true Ah yeah, i thought about a fruit or so, but i'm so focused to stay unharmed while playing that i forget pausing the game to check my achieved items per play. And it's absolutely fine not picking up more lives/shields after. Thanks.
