I never said it would be a bad thing to eliminate the poll. Why wouldn't someone want a well regarded brand land on iOS?
@Hodapp: Could you upload this ipa? I would like to try it. I know, its not the full game, but i would be happy about the demo.
That depends? Does Value want to sell off one their premium IPs at a below market value, discount rate? Of course they can do what everyone else does, compensate by lessoning/limiting the amount of content. They could, but that doesn't mean they would, or neccessarily should.
An interesting concept honestly...Given the length of both Portal 1 and 2, they would fit the "feel" of an iOS game. I'm sure it would be super polished, too. They'd probably have to limit it to newer devices if they wanted to get that same sharp look graphically. Really, porting Portal 1 over would be smart for them - they could charge $10 EASY and we would buy it. There's an amazing game to be had there. Most of us who own it on PC/360/PS3 would still buy it to have on our portable device and to get another playthrough in. I won't lie, I have a hard time finding many things wrong with the idea of bringing Portal to the iOS.
ya i agree a lot of ppl would buy. plus, with the release of portal 2, it would have even more popularity in iOS.
Not quite sure what you mean by this... I've been at Portal 2 all day today and it's significantly longer than the first game.
What I think too. I'm fine with playing FPSes on a gamepad (in fact, ironically I prefer console FPSes than PC) but Portal was one game which I thought felt better played on a PC. It's definitely manageable on a gamepad, but if you wanted more precision (the advanced challenges for example), the console version falls short. Unless you're the type who pulls off headshots every time, of course. On the iPhone/iPad? They could pull it off, but the controls would feel way different. A completely re-designed game for iOS/portable platforms would work though. Could be a platform-ish type of game, I dunno.
Took me about 7 hours to finish single player. Takes me around that long to finish/get bored of most iOS games.
