hehe Audi is my guild leader, I too have finished the first 7 islands as have a few others in our guild. HR really doesn't mean much, I cleared all at hr 80. What is far more important is having a full set of gear (upgraded)for all elements with the skill as the bonus damage really matters as content gets harder. As a pro tip I highly recommend using 20 orbs to buy auto on saturday (depending on your time zone) when all material zones are up (silk, ash etc) and farm the living hell out of those, as those materials gate you the most, also always do the invasions on hard for 3 star armour. That last boss Firedrake on 6th island was hardcore man, looks amazing (I wont spoil it) and has one shot abilities. Have fun Amazing implementation for a mobile MH, quite pleased but the grind is real.... My IGN is Guts, feel free to join invasion, if our clans runs have spots.
Just cleared Firedrake. PRO TIP: Make sure you have at least 1k def. If you do and still arent confident to take it on, I highly suggest using 5 gems for a boost. I would like to clarify that at this point where the game gimps us on easy materials, HR matters more than ever. But you have to snipe treasures. As Audi mentioned, he skipped the ones that give HP as HP augnites scale poorly.
I also skipped on hp augnites, while I agree of course the bonus stat's are worthwhile. I still emphasise equipment being of top priority. Easy materials you can farm, got enough for almost 5 full sets on saturday gone. But sure get treasure to boost your stats if you can it is just so time consuming sometimes taking 2 hours or more to get the small chance treasures and with the retire method you literally get nothing for your time if you fail to get it.
Yeah. I told most people here to skip the small chances treasures. Most of them are having a hard time farming the 3 star event and lifecrystals.

more weapon questions for MH newbie Great Sword - @Exact-Psience learnt simple cutting & thrusting and cancel by rolling after hit - @Melfchuah Now I know why you ask me to do block and cancel to charge that I learnt how to do block+charge at the same time. Lance - action cancellation doesn't seem useful here, Lance doesn't have a long action animation, I do not see any action cancellation is useful here, any comment? - there is no charge on this weapon, block + action button doesn't seem have any benefit on it. the counter doesn't always work well, any other comment or tips for me? I heard ppl said it is the best weapon type, but I didn't discover the magic yet. EDIT: block + charge actually work, it block, wait for counter and charge for single atk, but the atk release itself when ready Gunlance - I like it in slow monster but for fast monster I screw - action cancellation somewhat ok in some cases - block + charge only useful in full power bar charge, so most of time are not that useful because it is in short range I still need to suffer close range battle, any other tip for this kind of weapon? Bow - find people using it in multi, is it great? the damage is low and took years to kill monster tho Heavy Bowgun got couple 3* bowguns, comment and tips? thanks in advance
Lance requires finesse to play. Knowing when to counter is very important. I still havent gotten it down but it feels like counter has to be a last min play in order to deal max dmg. GL is just very safe imho. Turtle until the monster drop. Bow requires critical distance to do the maximum amount of damage. Personally, the weapon's dps feels lackluster and i would only recommend it if you find the above mentioned weapons completely unusable.

Finally had some kind souls allow me into their medium-level multiplayer hunts, and that allowed me to collect enough life crystals to level a bunch of things up. My stats were then acceptable and I started to get more multiplayer hunts, and then a generous rathalos dropped a Red Wing for me! My first 3-star weapon, and it just happens to be the same class as the weapon I was using at the time - great sword!!! I've now been able to upgrade the red wing enough to be let into any medium-level multiplayer hunt. This game just gets better and better, the more you put into it. Brilliant stuff, love it.
