Any news? There's an update now with ten more levels. There seem's to be a baby coming. L. stewart was pregnant? Any more news?
So... I don't know if these things have been mentioned yet (I didn't have time to read through the whole thread... but from the last posts I guess the secrets haven't been revealed yet...). There are two different things you might refer to as "Secrets". One of the secrets is the deep and interesting story only told by the things you can see in all levels... this story is deep indeed, but I won't tell it because 1. I'm still not totally sure if the story I know is right (thats the great part... you kind of make up your own story by looking at the sceneries... try it...) and 2. the story (or one person's version of the story ) has already been posted here... a nice idea for you all would be visiting the TigerStyle Forums, maybe there are some hints about the story which might help you find yourself into this way of discovering "the secret"... The second "secret" is a hidden room. If you want to know how to open it, read the Spoiler: ===WARNING: SPOILER :WARNING=== 1. All things have already been mentioned. You just need to figure out how the pieces fit together to solve the puzzle: The hints: The clock that glows when you hit the red button above it. It shows 9:00. The gravestone. Jump against it and it glows, revealing a sequence of arrows. This indeed is a movement sequence. A map: Somewhere in one level (I forgot where, but it's in a hidden area, just search for it...) is a sideview of the "entire house", but the only important thing is the shiny part on top of it. This means on top of the house is something that may be interesting. On top of the house (roof level): There is a diagram which kind of describes the way you have to push the wheel into the wall to open the secret room. (Story part: A human won't fit through the keyhole revealed by the wheel when pressed. So there must be a key... next to the description of the wheel there is a place for a key, but there is no key... with the new director's cut update the key can now be found, but you can't do anything with it. I guess after some further thinking the weird placement of the key might reveal some information about the story...) 2. The trick: There are some things you need to do before the wheel will be movable: A. The old clock. In one of the early levels there is an old clock you can go into. Go deep into the clock and jump around until you have changed the time the clock is showing to 9:00. (like the clock in the hints) B. In the cellar level there are some plugs you can press into pipes/walls. THEY NEED TO BE PRESSED IN THE ORDER SHOWN BY THE ARROWS ON THE GRAVESTONE! If you fail (sometimes happens to me when I jump from the first one right across the map to the second one, but hit the fourth one :/) you need to restart the level. C. The wheel. Now you can press the wheel and it will disappear from your view, revealing a secret exit. If you want to collect the bugs in this level, do this before using the exit, because it will bring you to the next level just like normal level exits. So, now you are in the secret treasure room... === SPOILER END === With the new DIrector's Cut update, there is another secret room, but it can be found much more easily. There is one level where you don't see the whole level, but reveal parts of it the further you progress. A small part of the level is separated and seems to contain nothing, but you can (Spoiler warning!) find the plug of the cable, jump onto it (this will remove the plug) and then you can pass the cable on top of the level... after some walking you find the secret exit to the sealed room... (Spoiler end)
so, what is the true story? Hi Vingdoloras, thanks for your answer. Actually we came very close to the truth during the thread. You should read our last postings from September (or Octobre). There is an excellent posting by VegangtTNT which you definetely read although I'm not really convinced by his conclusion in various parts. I think that L. Stewart was killed by R. But I have to confess that there is no hard evidence for that, so it's just a theory. I really hoped that there are more hints in the updated levels but I didn't really have the time to have a proper look through them. Only that: L. Stewart might be expecting a baby, most likely N. Bryce is the father. But may be I missed the whole thing, so please let me know if there is more to see now. The basic questions still are: What happened to L. Stewart? Who is the dead man? What happened to the other brother?
More secrets based on new levels? I love this game so much, I've played it through three times now, and I'm still figuring out the mystery. Some things I noticed in the Director's Cut that haven't been mentioned yet-- Attic-- there are baby presents still in their wrapping paper stored inside a trunk. I think that might mean LSB lost the baby? Otherwise they would have been in the nursery with the furniture. The Mouse Hole-- is there any significance to the objects gathered by the mouse? One looks like a soldier toy or figurine. Also, it seems there are a few red ribbons in spots where big clues are hidden (the blueprints and the diagram showing how the ship's wheel works). Is it possible LSB was the one doing the treasure-hunting? She seems most likely to be the owner of the red ribbons. Especially with the red shoes in the closet Anyone have other ideas??
What is new in the directors cut. I had beat the game and deleted it off of my Touch, to get to the new stuff will I have to beat the game again or is the new stuff separate so that I can just dive into that?
You will have to beat the game again anyways... there are new levels, containing new secrets and more things that tell you parts of the story... Remember the missing key on top of the house's roof in one of the secret areas? it can be found now, who knows how it got where it is... There also is another secret room, the sealed room. Go find it
Any further progress in figuring the correct story out?? Finished the game, got into the secret room, and now i just would like the story!
Well... I purchased this game just because I happened upon this thread and you lot seem to be having / had so much fun with it. I hope the developers appreciate all of the enthusiam you guys bring to their games.... (not to mention added revenue lol). I had to stop because I want to "try" to get through the game myself... then I'll go through it with all of your spoilers! I can't wait!! yay!! This is gonna be fun -- I can just tell! Al
Alright, I know I'm bumping the thread, but I just read the whole thing and want to see if everyone is right.
Walkthrough Here's a walkthrough which includes information on the new Director's Cut levels and the other secret room: http://www.gamezebo.com/iphone-games/spider-secret-bryce-manor/walkthrough
Is it really that hard to find the secret room? I accidentally went there on my first playthrough because I thought that I was going the right way. I was very confused when I got the achievement telling me that I found it. EDIT: I just looked at the walkthrough and realized that I only discovered 1 of the 2 secret rooms.
Houdini how to,and helpful clues Ok so I've played it a couple times carefully and slowly. Dont read if you dont want it spoiled lol The houdini room is found by going in the level 'mouse hole' and find the end of the sparking cord than go back up and a new path is cleared, another portal will be opened and when you go through that youll go to the hidden room. In the hidden room there are pictures of C.K Bryce with treasure(I think?),a picture of his wife,a gun in a holder, but most importantly a diagram of the clock and the furnace with the levers. Theres a magnifying glass zooming in on something in the clock but I really dont know what to get out of it. Something very interesting is in the 'staircase' level, the secret is hidden in the back of the shelf thingy, crawl through the whole and go down. theres a wood sketch of the mansion with a glowing gold on the top. Very helpful. any one need more,my email is [email protected]
Ive taken screenshots of all the names, secrets and pictures or anything of use. But it appears that the father CK was a Treasure Hunter and good with mechanics, R Bryce was a Musician who was second best to his brother, N Bryce was a Soldier/Smart Person of some caliber who was the more liked brother. R Bryce and N Bryce loved the Same Woman, but "L." got married to R as shown by a locket and picture of them in wedding outfits. Bryce even though it seemed she was closer with N.Bryce, got married to R.Bryce and through later pictures, you can see L. And N. Bryce holding hands at a much older age. So you assume affair. Also in L's Bedroom, she has N.Bryces Medal he wore in several pictures, a goodbye letter to R.Bryce, and a half packed suitcase. Also to further a possible split, theirs unpaid bills hidden up in the wall. Hmm.... In the back of the furnace, their's letters adressed to N. Bryce and L. with her original last name and Bryce last name burned. Somebodys Unhappy. Definatley a split here betweet L. Bryce and R. Bryce because of N. Bryce. Poor Guy, also further evidenced by a Train Ticket for LS Bryce and N. Bryce. We later find R. Bryce Dead in his chair with pills and alchohol holding a ripped up picture of his ex-wife that fits with a picture of N. Bryce found earlier, both in their old age. Also a baby room for E. Bryce with unopened toys in a chest! Guess N. Bryce was the father, And that's what caused it. So that led to the suicide. Unpaid Bills, Brother got his Wife pregnant and stole her like when they were kids, The Will was wrote out to N. Bryce and hidden in R. Bryce's Violin, and he never made it to the treasure room though it looked like someone got pretty close considering the key was in the wrong place and a diagram of where the treasure might be was made. As someone said before, maybe L. was looking for the treasure. And with the stuffed Parrot in the room, CK Bryce was obviously the man who hid the treasure. Things that I havent figured out: There's a Blue Urn in the ground along with some trash and a Red Urn(L. Mostly wore Red) sitting on top of where the treasure room can be accessed. Maybe he killed them? Or maybe it's nothing.
