Oh, I'd buy the next Zen Bound without a second thought. It's as much an experience as it is a game. A beautiful, peaceful, wood-grained experience.

Damn, can't wait for that update already, need more levels and a leaderboard. Wickedly and deceptively addictive er...'game'. Call it what you want it's more fun than an old dog in a room full of kittens.

hey dev, theres a glitch where sometimes, the ragdoll's limbs go into the stairs/walls. it is quite frustrating especially during high altitude falls, and you expect the ragdoll to come crashing down, but, instead, it "melts into" the floor or wall, decreasing the damage drastically. Please fix this glitch!!

i understand, frand, that it is hard to place dynamic objects in levels, but would you please try porting the truck level seen in the PC version, "truck dismount"?

Agreed, this 'feature' is extremely frustrating as many a good tumble has been ruined after an arm gets inexplicably velcro'd to a stair.
I tried Truck Dismount on the PC today and I don't find it as fun as Stair, mainly due to a slightly kludgy UI so if an iPhone port comes out I hope it gets streamlined.

    my first dismount- 133664
    classic stairs- 228514
    spiral- 277328
    concrete results- 201209
    moonlight- 251271
    stiletto- 374310

It's a complex problem, and cannot be fixed as a separate situation that wouldn't affect everything else.

The description of the problem is a bit difficult to interpret (it can actually relate to a number of different situations), so I'm taking a guess at explaining what the issue may be, and why.

The way Dismount calculates collisions is that they are "soft", meaning that with every impact Mr. Dismount interpenetrates slightly with the geometry. This is exactly the way we want it to be, because it adds to the realism in a very pleasant and subtle way, like a soft layer of body fat giving in slightly.

If we change the collisions to be "hard" with no interpenetration, the simulation would appear similar to pushing a suit of armor down the stairs - immediately less appealing.

Sometimes the effects of soft collisions are even unexpectedly funny, like when the character's hands "grab" a ledge and it appears like Mr. Dismount is holding on to his dear life. This is again a positive (half-intended) side effect of the physics, and would be lost with hard collisions.

In summary, we can try to change the physics in some conditions, but it is nigh-impossible to recognize and eliminate unwanted unexpected behaviors while still trying to keep the wanted unexpected behaviors in.

figured i'd throw my scores in...

    my first dismount - 82125
    classic stairs - 155880
    downward spiral - 276163
    concrete results - 188407
    moonlight stairflight - 267738
    stiletto - 231376

edit: looks like with the exception of stairflight & spiral, i need to work on my skills

  10. I kinda like the "soft" physics. Yeah, it can create some unfortunate moments, but it does create some humorous ones, too.

For my part, I've been working on my scores, but so far I've got:

    My First Dismount: 104358
    Classic Stairs: 197107
    Downward Spiral: 294482
    Concrete Results: 190000
    Moonlight Stairflight: 271997
    Stiletto: 310783

I guess I still haven't figured out some of the finer nuanced aspects of dismounting.

Any idea when we might see more levels?

Tried downloading on one computer and 2 iPods and not downloading.

So technically, NO, the update is NOT out.

Anyone else having the app store bugs that say you have like 10 updates and you realize you already have them all downloaded and installed?
No matter how many times you do it, they wont go away

Wohoo! Love the new update. The ski slope is too cool for words. (I got 50,000 on it already ..determined to get more.) :) ..Time to try The Ledge and Mt. Dismount.

Ah yeah, I've been having that update problem on occasion. Tried updating it on the phone directly? I hadn't worried too much because it seemed to work itself out eventually. <shrugs>

Update just appeared for me. Is the ski slope really that good then? I was worried it might be too simple, i.e. nothing more than sliding along on your face for a bit.

In a moment of great irony, the update download is failing repeatedly for me as well.

On the brighter side, this is probably the best moment to discuss the 1.2.1 update... (pshh, you didn't think we'd stop with the 1.2.0 one, did you?)

So, in the previous week, while waiting for approval, the following improvements have been put in so far:

    - Pick your own face in the Facebook friends list
    - Clear face selection (kind of obvious, sorry we missed it)
    - One scenario, details later :)
    - Online high scores are shown inside the game UI, both in the scenario selection screen and the level intro screen

As usual, work in progress, so no firm date yet for when this one will be submitted. Not that we're quite fixed on the version number, even.

Sounds great, looking forward to it. Also, Any way we could also get a change scenario from the little arrow options menu that's within the game? I dislike having to jump back to the main page and start all over again to pick a new level. My apologies if this has been requested already.

  20. Update failing for me too. It appears to download and install, but the transfer goes way too quickly and when I run it, it's the same damn version.

Jebus H. Farquharson on a toasted arse bagel, Apple, fix the damn App Store! I do not want to have to uninstall and reinstall. I'll lose all my scores!

    Grrrr...

Anyone who has had it fail ever have it update properly at some point?
