I as well fall on this side of the coin. I picked it up during the sell and like to see that their is some diversity. I think most if not all levels should have some sort of uniqueness to offer contingent to that specific level. I do hope to see other levels as well in future updates and will continue my support for all your games. I honestly didn't think i would enjoy it as much is I do. Very well polished and plays smooth on my iTouch 2nd Gen. I have also left a positive review from my device. Question...Is their a way to reset the face back to default without having to reinstall?
A silly omission on our part which will be fixed in the next update. If you check back a few posts you'll notice the screenshots including the fabled "Clear Face" button
Thanks for the quick response Frand. I cant wait to work my way closer towards the top of the leaderboards!
Yeah I understand your dillema. I'm not 100% positive but all the other games that I've owned where OF was added you weren't able to upload your previous scores into it. My understanding was that OF wasn't capable of doing that. I could be wrong though, but as an example OF was just added to Hook Champ and it's not able to upload your previous scores to the leaderboard. It's probably not a huge deal for most people, but it can kinda suck especially if you've spent a ton of time in this game breaking your records. My advice would to not clear your scores, but keep trying to break them. Eventually, when you do, it will upload and you'll have seemingly come out of nowhere with bad ass scores. That's what I'm doing anyway, although my previous scores aren't all that impressive. Yeah it doesn't bug me at all. I'd rather have SE working on more levels and features than chasing down a minor glitch. Besides, I have some pretty hilarious pictures of my dude hanging onto things in odd ways. I like it like that.
Is there a secret I'm missing? 'Cos I look at some of the leaderboard scores and wonder how in the everloving tentacles of C'thulu some of these scores are ever achieved. I've played around plenty with positioning and hit strength but I just can't seem to achieve the sort of scores I'm seeing. What are others doing that I'm not?
Experiment more. I'm 50k behind the top scorer on a few stairs (haven't played them all again as my previous highscores don't count). Just keep trying I suppose. Don't assume anything as sometimes the weirdest spot or not full strength can bring in bigger score. All I know is the scores are possible.
I have to say the 1.2M score for Loose Bindings made my jaw drop as well. Replays with leaderboards would be nice, but unfortunately too big a task to be considered right now.
I know they're possible, but it got me wondering if maybe there was a particular combination that tends to be pretty good for achieving maximum impact while maintaining the multiplier. Plus, even dismounts with the exact same position and strength can often result in vastly different scores; there's a lot of variability and slight randomness involved here that has a snowball effect on dismounts. I'm thinking these absurdly high scores were a combination of just the right position and strength combined with a lucky break (heh) getting lots of sustained simultaneous impacts that kept the multiplier high and the bonuses racking up. Guess it's all up to try try again. Replays would be cool -- though oddly enough part of me feels like it might be cheating just a little. But it'd be a good way of both showing off for the high scorers and learning techniques for the hopefuls.
Well I'm just used to it now since it's kinda moot anyways, dev has already stated the soft physics were a conscious choice and with the leaderboards up no sense changing things now. What I'd like to see is an easier way to position the initial impact arrow, perhaps an onscreen dpad to move it around his body instead of my fat finger obscuring everything; also a button to flip him 180 (since 99% of the time I'm pushing him from the back. Also the app remembering your choice of zoom would be nice too instead of resetting it for every dismount (remembers the cam angle ok but not the zoom).
This made me think... how about a mode with strategically placed bombs? Even if they do nothing to the score, it'd be mighty amusing to see Mr. Dismount tumble down a flight of stairs then kick a bomb and get his leg blown off. I think partial dismemberment is key, merely vaporizing the whole ragdoll wouldn't be as funny as single limbs going flying if you ask me. What do you think?
I like the hand-grabs, but not when they slow down a cool tumble. It's a love-hate relationship. I'm in total agreement over the push-point frustration with it being obscured by the finger. Shouldn't it show *above* the finger? ..Like the magnifying-glass in text-editing, and the insertion-point in GeoDefense (which was, in the earliest incarnations of the game, set to be directly under the finger.) Currently it's hard to gauge if it's where you want without zooming right it, or checking, then re-adjusting (which often jumps the arrow to somewhere completely different..) Agreed about the zoom-level too. There should be a button to set the 'favourite' camera. As soon as you hit the dismount button, the camera jumps to that point in space. Loose Bindings is now my favourite level. Love it. Especially when you get a good end-over-end flip going on. ..Mt Dismount seems to work best if you push him down the left or right side of the structure IMHO. A challenging level.
I think at the end of the day, theres a HUGE element of pure luckmaybe more than skill. I try the same force (nearly) and the same impact point 20 times and get a range or scores just as large as I get when experimenting with varying force/direction. I still like the game a lot and am addicted But anything that shifted the balance away from luck and toward skill a bit would be welcome. And on a more useful note: two impact-points Ive found useful (though it may just be me inventing patterns in randomness). 1. Back of the neck (either straight on, or upward towards the back of the head) 2. Shoulder (upper arm)
I agree. Once I get a good point I usually keep trying different strength / even same strength for several times. The result could very from 80k to 400k!! (with different strength) And as you said, even with same strength (maximum), the score could vary significantly (around 50k) so I don't know what the 'random variables' are. Wind? Gravity? Luck? I don't know.
Im sorry but the face option is HORRIBLE, not all photos on facebook are CLOSE UPS, and I especially dislike the whole pixelating aspect of the thing...plz give us an editor like in face fighter!
yeah secret exit, listen to her. also the luck thing needs to go, I can stop the bar on the same point and it will vary, kind of frustrating.
