Max Injury was an interesting one. Not sure how to quantify it, but it was missing that secret sauce that Stair Dismount has though. Soon as I had Stair Dismount, Max Injury was gone. I've had 100 times the fun in Stair Dismount that I had in Max Injury.
I really appreciate that comment. cuz I was starting to waver back and forth between buying this or Max Injury and that really made it easy. Though a dream scenario would be for this to be on Freeappaday, it would finally get the great coverage it deserves!
No problem abruce42. ..The Mac and PC version of Stair Dismount and Truck Dismount are quite free. Just go to the Secret Exit website and grab those. If you have fun with them, guaranteed the iPhone version should be well worth the modest $1.00 asking price. ..Especially since this one has a *ski jump*! (it rocks) Can't wait to see what the full PC version of this updated dismount game turns out like. (I've downloaded all the level-editor bits and bobs ..just haven't been able to get motivated enough to set them up.) The original Stair Dismount is long overdue for an update based on this brilliant iPhone version. (Has it been decided what the PC one will be called? Stair Dismount Deluxe maybe?)
The PC version will look very similar to the iPhone version, but with the added benefit of running in a higher resolution and being able to run community-generated levels. OpenFeint obviously won't be available on the desktop side, so highscore lists will be somewhat simpler. The name of the game will be (the long-awaited) Stair Dismount 2
Whew. Been a while but we've finally nailed down the last pesky issues on the to-do list. Stair Dismount 1.2.5 will finally be submitted today, together with Stair Dismount Lite. Stair Dismount 1.2.5 includes the following changes: - Update to latest OpenFeint (featuring new UI and geolocation leaderboards) - OpenFeint high scores featured inside the game UI - Clear Face -button - One extra scenario - Small tweaks (Twitter and Facebook buttons to follow up on Dismount news, Select Scenario -button in the in-game options etc.) - New "Secret Exit" button functionality: Pressing the button no longer quits the game and opens up Safari, instead a fancy new game list is shown. Secret Exit button displays a tag when the game list has been updated. - Frame rate issues on some 1st gen devices fixed (caused by slow audio playback)
I have found a bug in the game. Ever since I upgraded to 3.1.3, the game crashes within 2 seconds of startup. Please fix this! I love this game.
We've heard this problem in some iTunes reviews, but none of our testing devices exhibit the problem. (And we've got all device models here.) Would you answer these questions: 1) Is your device jailbroken? 2) What is the model of your device? 3) Have you tried to delete and re-install the game?
1) No, I will never jailbreak 2) iPod Touch 2G version 3.1.3 3) No, if I do, will my scores be saved?
We just updated a 1st gen to 3.1.3 and tested the game, it started with no issues. If you delete and re-install, your local high scores will be deleted, but the OpenFeint high scores should sync back from the server. Does the game persistently refuse to start, even after restarting the device?
Stair Dismount Lite has been approved for sale, and will be making its way to an App Store near you in the next 24 hours! (We have confirmed ample supply.)
That's good news. This is the sort of game that you really need to play to understand just how good it is. I've tried all similar games, and none can compete with the polish and fun of Stair Dismount. This game will remain on my iPod forever. It just has that certain "something" that keeps you coming back. Even though I already own the full game, I'm tempted to get the lite just for the monocle and moustache. Great game, no reason not to try it out now.
The 1.2.5 update comes with the pyramid scenario (screenshot can be seen in the first post of the thread). The update was submitted to Apple on the same day as the Lite version. Let's hope there are no unexpected rejections Beyond that, our focus is currently fully on Zen Bound 2 (which will be really nice).
Happy days and jubilation! Stair Dismount wins Technical Achievement category in IGF Mobile 2010 http://www.igfmobile.com/ But we all knew Dismounting is a technical sport, right?
