Scattered worlds were claimed on the fringe of the galaxy. Each pocket of survivors held on to an isolated set of worlds while trying to rebuild under the great law of Shalun. Three centuries later, technology has brought them back together again. Discovery of the hyperwarp has bridged what was once an unimaginable distance between far-flung colonies, long-lost families, and political factions. With that reunification has come great economic prosperity. The hyperwarp reestablished the transportation of cargo, goods, and technologies between the quadrants – but it has also brought great strife. Political rivalries have been rekindled, blood has been shed in age-old feuds, and the fires of war have been stoked. Amidst the political infighting, a ruthless revolution is rising – and the fervent explorers of the hyperwarp have awoken something that was better left asleep. Our very first game, Star Traders RPG, took hundreds of thousands of gamers on an interstellar adventure. Star Traders’ success and overwhelmingly positive reception helped to launch Trese Brothers Games. It was the adventures of our community’s star-crossed captains that put us on a trajectory to share more of our worlds, ideas, and dreams. We set out to capture the loneliness, bravery, and camaraderie of people living together in a spaceship sailing across the stars. It is with great pride that after releasing four other games in the Star Traders universe, we’ve created a sequel to the original Star Traders RPG. Step onto the bridge of your starship, take to the stars, and create your own story in Star Traders: Frontiers. It is not that the game is not good do not get me wrong. For the people who love this style of games they will feel right at home. I think the devs did i very impressive job and at a very low price. But for me it is waaaaay too complicated. And i mean complicated like nothing else i have seen on ios. I mean i spent almost two hours just to figure out the basic functions of the game cause the game does not have a full tutorial. Also trying to see the text is a real pain and trust me most of your time at this game you will try to read. The screen orientation is not changing it is only in the direction i do not prefer to play. Even trying to see what each attribute does is a real pain cause my thumb gets in the way add that to the small text and you get the picture. Gameplay wise i do not know how it is i just played the beggining of it i believe. I just do not have the patience for that. After 5 hours playing it i had to delete it. Plus it is not iPhone X compatible. For those who like these type of games trust me this is a masterpiece.!!!! anthony78 Well-Known Member Nov 13, 2015 3,127 703 113 #11 anthony78, Jan 30, 2019 Wow. I purchased it. Haven’t played it yet but then saw your post that it isn’t iPhone X compatible. With a game like this where you need every inch of the screen to be able to make things out, that’s a huge deal breaker. Just tried to refund and it wouldn’t let me even though I haven’t even opened it. Sent an email to support but we’ll see. Real shame that it isn’t X supported. I think the bigger question here is, is it suited to be played on a phone or it’s much better on an iPad. I feel games like these, with a lot of tinkering around, buttons to tap, HUDs to manage and texts/stats to read, it would be best played on an iPad. I could be wrong though. Let’s see. dukat111 Well-Known Member Mar 23, 2010 514 94 28 #14 dukat111, Jan 30, 2019 Does it support the new iPad screen sizes? Wrath Well-Known Member May 26, 2011 480 9 18 Seattle #15 Wrath, Jan 30, 2019 Sounds like this game functions better on an iPad due to screen/text size - - anyone know if progress is transferable between iPhone and iPad? (I could probably stand for the smaller phone screen size in short increments, while spending most of the time playing in the iPad if we're able to continue where we leave off...) In other words, they take advantage of as much screen area as possible with the exception of the notch and lower contours. My strong preference is complete optimization, but this works well enough on the XS Max and definitely is not a deal breaker. Now would certainly be the time to test an exception to one’s strong preferences on the platform, as this great indie company treats the App Store like Steam with frequent, substantive post-release updates and improvements. For example, TBE—released on iOS in 2015—received the latest in a long line of welcome updates on January 29, 2019. Think along the lines of successful free-to-play titles (eg, a consistent money-maker about clans clashing) that have taken over the App Store but better because the Trese Brothers don’t hold anything back or hide content behind paywalls. I have included screen shots of STF (images 1 and 2) and TBE (images 3 and 4) for those trying to decide whether it is worth a purchase on the XS Max. Note that the vertical black borders (ie, pillarboxing) are clear in each image and that they have not been altered (eg, cropped, enlarged, etc.) in any way. They accurately depict the manner in which each title appears on the XS Max. They simply chose to avoid the notch, which is perfectly acceptable according to the iOS/IPhone X standards I’ve seen. Whether that size works for a game of this complexity is a different question. From what I’ve seen so far, its seems okay. fallen Well-Known Member Nov 22, 2012 812 149 43 Boston http://www.tresebrothers.com #20 fallen, Jan 30, 2019 Seems like we missed the iPad Pro 11" and iPad Pro 12.3".
