Well I hope this is real and I hope a release date is announced soon bc this is really the only game I'm looking forward to. I also hope and expect it to run decently on the iPad 3, say what you will about it but I've had zero complaints since I bought it at launch.
Nope ipad3 can run nova 3 with no problems..now just where do you get your information???Are you a sage or something???Part of KOTOR development group??? Do you hate the ipad3 or those bought them???
Getting away from the usual 'your device is ancient, no it isnt, yes it is' mularky, I just hope we get some official news yet. I'm surprised they dont announce games like this 'coming soon' as the hype/excitement would be crazy. Just wish the dev would say yes/no as i'm still nervous we havent heard anything official
Well one thing is perfectly clear, you don't read your statements carefully thus diminishing you point... Secondly, you don't even realize it but you're guilty of the same atrocities you profess to hate...
In an ideal world i would want every game to work on ipod touch 4th gen. But if its a case of KOTOR only works on 5th gen ipod touch or the latest ipad then so be it. Rather that than nothing. I used to have an ipod touch 4th gen but sadly was frustrated at the amount of games which kept crashing on my device, finally upgraded and its probably the best money i've spent.
Yeah but thats been the case since the beginning of time. I remember in the 80's getting excited by some of the hyped big name games and they arrive and they're terrible, just trying to cash in on kids blindly buying their games due to the name. A lot depends on the team you have behind the conversion and also of course money. I'm sure if they had a huge budget they could optimize it and it'll run on older iOS devices but perhaps they dont have the budget, or they have to release by 'x' day. Might have been the case for Vice City, kept crashing on my ipod touch 4th gen when it first came out, an update later cured that problem. But you cant blame the devs really, 'some' ios games only have a short shelf life so some devs might not bother with older devices. We know in iOS land in a year or two (or just a year) sometimes our devices are outdated already. That was the same in the 90's with PC's, i buy a 166 mhz PC, 3 months later theres a 300 mhz processor and all the latest games only run on that, i get a 300 mhz PC and 6 months later its a 600 mhz PC and so on. But its just basic maths, the devs have x amount to convert it to iOS and will probably cut some corners to make the release date. If they have more time they can probably to more work so it'll work on older devices, or if they make so much money in the first month they might not bother catering for older devices etc.
I was going to say the same, there still hasnt been any concrete evidence apart from that email. You would think the devs would come out with some news if it was all true. Would love for it to come out tomorrow but until i see something 'real' from a dev i'm still nervous that this is all for nothing
Case in point, the world ends with you. I dont regret updating to ipod touch 5 but I don't see how that game could not have been optimized to run without crashing on 4th gen when the original Nintendo DS had less ram than that.
But it must depend on different companies and different budgets etc. We dont know the in's and out's. Its funny people seem to think 'well KOTOR came out in 2003 etc so the technology must have been old and it must be able to run on a newish ipod...' etc Theres some MAME games i cant get running full speed on my device, all because a games x years old doesnt mean it'll automatically run perfectly on a new device. But yeah i do agree there must be a huge amount of ipod touch 4th gen users, i do want them catered for. But at the end of the day all the constant moaning about ipod 4th gen doesnt matter here, if you really are upset then just contact the devs, that'll do far more than going on about it here time and time and time again. If ipod touch 4 users arent happy get them to contact the devs, going on here all the time wont help
Well you can contact the devs of the various games you want working on ipod touch 4th gen. When GTA Vice City kept crashing i contacted them, not saying it was due to me but a few weeks later an update appeared which worked a treat. But either way its far better to contact the devs via their address on itunes or on Google than KEEP going on about it here as after a while i'll start to delete posts which ruining a lot of threads with the SAME discussion time and time again
Just saying, it's silly to even discuss lack of support for your iPod touch 4 because for all we know the game could just be iPad, as the only piece of evidence had stated "on iPad"
Yeah i'm expecting ipad only (i dont have any evidence for that), if its not thats a huge bonus. But i just want some official word that its coming out for sure. I heard it is, then i've read Apple have already okayed it so its just a case of pressing the switch. Just hope it happens soon
As an iPod Touch 4th Gen owner, STOP GETTING YOUR FREAKING HOPES UP ABOUT THE GAME WORKING ON THIS DEVICE!!!!
The combat system in KOTOR is basically Baldur's Gate... It was just made 3D, and some tweaks in the stats and characteristics of the system. KOTOR, Neverwinter Nights, Baldur's Gate, Planescape Torment, basically all have the same RPG system.
Man most of the time I see a post from you it's whining about something or going on about ios specs. Is everything ok?
