So I'm a Star Wars fan. I mean, I don't go out wearing stormtrooper armor, nor do I record and post myself waving a fake lightsaber around on youtube, but I do enjoy most things Star Wars related, like reading around about the universe or reading the ongoing 'post-episode-VI' storyline and whatever. Any others here? It doesn't have to be the films or anything specific, maybe you enjoyed one of the games or something (e.g. KOTOR, battlefront etc.).
I enjoyed both KOTAR 1 & 2 - Without those games I would have never gotten into RPGs and had became such a fan of BioWare.
Battlefront was pretty badass, nothing to do with being SW-related though. I enjoy the good games for being good games, the fact there are lightsabers and stormtroopers don't add to the appeal for me.
The KOTOR games were great examples of not only SW games but also RPGs in themselves. The restoration project for KOTOR 2 is actually complete now, I'm considering reinstalling it to see all the content that was cut. Also, a recent teaser for the next Old Republic game, even if you're not into the game, the CG movie itself is pretty epic IMO.
Wow that honestly looks tight. I've always wanted to play as a clone after the empire talks over. I feel like a nerd, but I think I will prolly get this for sure 100% no doubt. I hope they make it not turn based this time. Third person would be cool.
Same here. Have you read the Legacy of the Force series (the most recent 'complete' series in the SW chronology)?
I gave up on Star Wars a long time ago (the Phantom Menace did it for me), but I still love Jedi Outcast, which I think of as an excellent action/adventure title that happens to have a Star Wars theme.
Jedi Outcast and Jedi Academy are among my favourites among SW games and indeed action-adventure games. IMO Kyle Katarn is an awesome character, and still alive in the current storyline too . I see you mentioned the Phantom Menace made you give up on it. To be honest, IMHO the era in which the movies are set in is the least interesting era. I'm far more interested in the Old Republic era (thousands of years before Phantom Menace) and the New Republic era (coming up to 40 years after A New Hope).
The last time I played a star wars game was on the gameboy color. I can't remember what it was called, but it was obviously 2D, top-down with pokemon/zelda like sprites. It was actually pretty good.
I love the first 3 movies (4, 5 and 6 - Star Wars, Empire Strikes Back, Return of the Jedi) But the newer ones are just lame. I feel the older newer ones (1,2,3) aren't as bad but all of this CGI "Attack of the Clones" crap annoys me.
I thought Star Wars II & III (the movies) were pretty neat, but that's about it. Oh yeah, Star Wars: Battlefront II was also fun, especially the ability to play the heros and villains.
Yes, that's it! I remember I always got stuck where you had to find a spare part to put in your ship. It had the classic star wars music on a loop which was very catchy (and annoying) . Good times.
I think the only Star Wars game I've played on the gameboy colour was a pod-racer game which was in top-down style. It had a 'rumble' feature installed in the cartridge, which I thought was pretty neat at the time . Also, @LordVader, are you up to date with the current SW storyline?
