Chill, take a deep breathe, smile more Anyway, back on topic, I think the make or break of the game isn't the graphics but the controls. I'd rather have pre-rendered sprites and fluid framerate rather than choppy 3D that will look ugly anyway compared to a PSP game (though we can't be sure since Capcom chose to do an iDevice port, leapfrogging a PSP port!! ) From what I read, they've invested months and months to finetune the controls, so I'm happy with that. I prefer them spending months on controls than on textures or sprites. Heck, they can even use a SNES level sprites and I'd still be happy if the controls work well.

Not to get in the middle of all of this, but this really isn't an upcoming games thread about SF4 in general. It was a specific thread about a particular point of view on app store economics and how it might play into this game. I've enjoyed reading the give and take, and none of it was particularly "off topic". It would have been off topic in the general upcoming games thread.

@sarcastic gamer: Sizzlakalonji was just saying it's not the thread for upcoming SF IV game, but doesn't mean it must hence be killed. It's not a duplicate thread. It's about devs perceiving AppStore as a cheap market thus not giving their best when making iDevices games - and that's an argument I often agree with. Look at MGS Touch, Sonic 1, Silent Hill and tell me they're investing much in those. SF IV was used as an example, but soon it focuses only on SF IV and core's posts history. It could've been quite an interesting thread, but too much flaming turns it into one nasty thread. Ah well..
Well said. The controls will be what makes or breaks this attempt. Not in any way trying to jump on OP here. To me the backrounds are irrelevant to this series.
You conveniently pick the worst and left out the gems. GTA CW, assasins creed, broken sword, monkey island, pvz are proof that companies are now willing to invest in the platform. The best negates the worst and the worst negates the best so In a nutshell one should not create a prejudised presumption over a game before it even hits the AppStore. It's unfair for the developer in question as it creates a negative image before it gets released, I'm pretty sure the op doesn't want the same thing to happen to his game.
