Ugh, I'm in this boat. It's nice to know that there's others who do the same thing and know that they're compulsive collectors. Also it's stupid that I have so many games and often stare at my ipad not knowing what to do.
It's stupid that a really popular and capable device has games just because there' some other device that you consider superior for games? No.
it disgusts me whenever I see a stolen flash game on the appstore. not only the flash games is stolen completely even the sprites get stolen. if I work at Apple I will show no mercy to anyone bringing the stolen flash games to the appstore
Psionic Games' Killer Escape, Super Duck Punch and the others which I don't remember their names. just search for the stolen flash games from the websites like armorgames or kongregate on the appstore. keep in mind some flash games are ported to the iOS by the original developers and publishers while of course the others are stolen
It's stupid that I've actually bought the amount of iPhone games I have, when I've only completed a small handful of them all the way through. It's pretty stupid that I have to check what each update is actually changing... lest a game I purchased becomes freemium or filled with ads. I also cringe every time I see another flappy game, I really don't get the amount of popularity that POS game has gotten. It's not all bad though. I haven't bought an iPhone game in a good three months... I feel like a recovering alcoholic who finally beat their addiction. That MAY change briefly though. Just long enough for me to buy Wayward Souls.
Ya the update thing is so true. I'm always worried that they will add ads, iaps, new bugs, crashes, lose my game saves, or screwup the game. I wish that in the updates section that you could click somewhere within that page and it will directly take you to that app. I want to see some feedback to make sure that it's safe to update.
Ha-Ha! Guess I'm pretty stupid, too! A lot of my fun comes from my rabid thirst of looking for and downloading everything I want (collecting) and getting to playing it later. And I spend lots of valuable gaming time here checking out whatever interests me, as well as a couple of Android sites (for my phone) where I do the same thing! I think there are lots of others who do this too and enjoy it just for it's own sake! It's fun and super addicting, for me!
Hi my name is coolpepper, and I'm an appaholic. This is my first time at AA. I spend most of my day looking for price drops, scour forum posts that are a year old for unused promo codes. I buy things that I will never play. I feel so ashamed about this, but once I used a promo code for a flappy bird clone. I know it was going to be a completely crappy game, but I just had to have it!
Online requirements and games with no single player modes. I realize that all games don't require a single player mode, but I hate not being able to play without internet.
I'm with this. Burned a few times when finding internet is needed and nothing in the game description stated so.
Actually, the iPhone 5 and iPad 4 are more powerful than the vita. (So the A7 devices are atleast 2x better.
Any game where the description fails to tell the whole truth is a no for me. I like honesty. I also don't trust any game where the advert has a typo... and I absolutely HATE stereotyped marketing.
Ha ha i'm the same. If i see a screenshot with typos on i'll avoid the game. Also i like seeing screenshots of the game, not 10 screenshots of the intro movie/main menu. Or tiny screenshots of the game with the words 'amazing gameplay' taking up most of the space. Also when devs vote their own game 5 stars in threads here ! Makes no sense, obviously the dev will vote it 5 stars. Just a waste. People who wont buy a game if it doesnt have external controller support. People who moan about the prices of games when they are SOOOO cheap. Depressing (and funny) seeing people talking about a price drop when a games simply $2
One more Twitter and Facebook integration. Now Mr Dev, i dont want to spam my friends/family by marketing your company or annoy facebook/twitter followers/friends by updating every hour how i'm doing in a game or my top score!! Seems the norm for nearly every game out there. The second a 'friend' starts spamming his twitter/facebook with some crap about a game (as he wanted to get 10 free coins !) i delete them even if theyre a close family member ! Despite the whinges the positives far far outweigh the negatives
This. I just simply can't believe how cheap people can be sometimes. My friend had just spent 60 dollars on a new Playstation3 game but I could not get him to spend 99 cents on Puzzle Quest for iPhone! Finally he did, and his girlfriend mentioned she had never seen him so addicted to anything like that before, so I saw that as a kind of win for me. About the whole collecting games thing vs the time you spend playing them... I have really been an addict of just buying new games and letting them sit on my device or in my notes whenever I feel like downloading them. But I would say I have got my act together lately, and I only ever have 10 games on my iPad and iPhone at any time and decide to play them until i finish them (or get bored which is usually the case). And I only buy new games if they are about 3 bucks or under, or if its a good sale. I make notes about the games I come across that I really want to play, but promise myself I won't buy them unless it's a ridiculous sale or after I have finished/gotten bored of some of the ones I already have. Another stupid thing I think is this. I bought a Playstation Vita about a year ago and currently own 4 games for the system. They are all fine games, but I had to pay about 40 dollars for every one of them. 40 dollars on the appstore would get me such an insane number of quality games that could entertain me for months. iOS gaming is to me so incredibly superior any other kind of mobile gaming. I will probably never buy a system like the Vita or the 3DS ever again.
