Controls for Blocks Cometh were pretty fluid for me at least. This game's controls should be pretty good as well.

I really love this game! everyone should try the free pc version. But I expect very bad controls on iOS, I don't see how it could be otherwise. I hope they will make me wrong... also they did not sell it on PC via digital platforms, it was FREE, but I bet it will cost $1 on iOS and that's just... WTF??? Are iOS users stupid people for them??

Yeah, the computer version is definitely worth a try. However, I don't see controls as being much a problem. Muffin Knight's gameplay was pretty exactly like this game's and controls worked great on my iPhone.

there is a big difference. in SCB you need to play in the whole screen, and a virtual pad will hide the game

edit: what about the PC FREE/iOS $1 issue?

Yeah, I agree that having the iOS version be paid and the comp version free is a little annoying. But then again, they could have always made the comp version paid as well. I guess you can treat the comp version as a free demo that plays (well, probably will play) better than the actual version. Anyway, they have to make some profit some how right?

Also, have you tried Muffin Knight? I think you have to play in just as much screen as you do in SCB

I know, it's releasing on the 1st. I was talking about the beta for it. lol sorry.

But yeah, if you like SCB then you'll probably like Muffin Knight too. That's what I'll be playing until SCB comes out

If you like SCB you'll probably hate Muffin Knight since it's a rip.

    I'm quite excited about this.
I think Super Crate Box is one of the best indie games to come out in the last five years.
I actually liked it so much I ripped sprites and coded it myself a few months ago, so I could take it on the road with me. I didn't manage to code the Flamethrower, good luck with that one on iOS Halfbot!

Nope, but I could fit them into my restaurant.

Back on topic though, you do realize that the only reason that SCB is coming to iOS is because of Muffin Knight, right?

this game looks great! I'll be keeping tabs on this. I was already pumped up when I played Muffin Knight which was similar but this even better!

It would be cool if the virtual buttons were fully customization so we could place them comfortably.

They might be, don't criticize the game before it's out. I mean they probably won't be, Halfbot had to do this in a rush just to combat Muffin Knight.

I got Muffin Knight and wow, that game controls like a dream, it's practically perfect.
They have a lot of polish to do. There's hope yet because Muffin Knight serves as a template for the standard of platforming handling they need to hit. I'm confident both games can coexist on the Appstore due to the different artstyles. In fact while I was fairly positive about this game before (I've never played it on PC), Muffin Knight has made me more excited for it. I'm going to download the Windows version now.

(Funny thing is I feel more in control playing platformers on a touchscreen than using the arrow keys on a keyboard, and this is coming from someone who plays Mugen). :)

If Vlambeer/Halfbot nail the controls like Angry Mob did then we will have a true competition:D

Well I sure as heck know that if Muffin Knight came out a month after Super Crate Box, it's sales would probably be 80% less. That's why SCB has to get out asap, even if it means sacrificing polish. The more time goes by, the more sales it loses to the other game. I mean, of course Muffin Knight is good. When you take the exact same gameplay of a perfect game, it takes a lot to ruin it. But knowing Halfbot, SCB will be good. I'll be the very first buyer, I'll be getting an NZ account just to do so.
