Excited for this game next week and I hope it does well. Still hoping the kingdom builder isn't shallow but mostly just looking forward to the game itself it looks great.

Getting so tired of hearing people just call it an endless runner though.

Well... you can start a hate/bash thread now if you want, before Eli creates it and moves bash posts into it. :D

As for me, Im playing this no matter what, then i'll judge it for myself LOL.

Feel the same way. Constant online connection is typically a deal breaker for me and was a little disappointed to hear that, BUT.... This is Super Freaking Mario on your iDevice. Based on what I have seen and read, I don't classify this as a traditional "runner." There are levels/stages and appears to have some depth despite one tap controls.

I'm really excited to try this out.

Single player game requiring Internet makes no sense.
And a Mario game is doing it.
    Game over.
Try again, Nintendo. This is unacceptable.
It's ridiculous, surely they know they're going to lose sales from people who actually want to be able to play their "mobile" games anywhere?

I can't have this. It won't function all the time. It obviously is supposed to function. It's a single player game. Where is proper functionality? Where is logic? #

There are two other gameplay modes and apparently the connection was necessary for all of them to function together. I'm not happy about it either and will only play in the single player mode as I don't have interest in racing against others.

Holding judgement until I can play myself as it just looks too good.

There is no reason that the single player mode's data can't be uploaded whenever you choose to connect, so it still works properly.
    They have no excuse. #

I have zero clue how all that back end stuff works so you are probably right. That's what I get for just repeating what I heard in an interview.

Was like a punch to the stomach. Been so pumped since Sept and then a week before launch they announce the online aspect.

Looks like I'll be walking around with my Verizon Jetpack in my pocket at all times.

I have no problem with it requiring online all the time.

Hell last week I was way up in the mountains shooting a NATO 308 sniper rifle on a friends property in upstate New York and I had internet on my phone lol

Super Mario Run here I come!!!

Nintendo fans don't have a problem with paying again and again for nes roms that they have already bought , why would they have a problem with a 10$ runner that requires online ?

Unfortunately, I can't pay Nintendo to play those ROMs on my iPhone, which I would love to. And if I have to use data when I'm out and about or buy wifi on planes each flight just to play a game that I'd have to pay $10 to play, I won't be happy. If we have to be online, why not charge less for the IAP or just make the whole thing free with ads?! I mean, who's to say they won't start throwing ads for their console stuff in this online game that people paid $10 to rent?

Anyway, I'm 36, and I grew up paying for something and then being able to play it anytime. I despise the way the market has shifted.
