Played a few minutes. Yes it's a point and click adventure game. It has that Out of This World (aka Another World) feel, ICO feel, its settings are mystery... Don't be turned off by the pixel graphics... I like the pixel arts that it gave retro feels... And the soundtrack are very well done... This game is of high quality...
I'm a HUGE pixel graphics freak... but I really just can not get into point n click games... =o/ Never have been able to...
I bought it. Been eyeing it since news of it appeared, figured I will wait till I do some cleaning of my apps but at 0.99, I will be dumb to wait more.
This game can only be well experienced with stereo sounds... So play with earphone/headphone plugged in... Someone who loves Another World or ICO must get this!
I'm also not big on point-and-click... I wouldn't really compare this to ICO, it may be bleak but it's full of puzzles and platforming where this has almost none.
Exactly. Also the other thing that was annoying was that Ericthered account was created on this forum to hype this game then it disappeared. Pretty shady.
Ericthered has never been associated with the creators of Sworcery in any way. I have since been in touch with him to thank him for his enthusiasm, but he is not part of the superbrothers/capy family, and has not received compensation for his support. Considering what has gone on in other situations with fake hype accounts, I can understand why you might suspect something, but in this case, Ericthered is a true fan.
For those of you still on the fence, check out the front page article dedicated to the sale (I believe it's currently the 3rd one down). If Eli's love for the game doesn't push you over, I don't know what will. S:S&S EP is a combo of art, game, music, feeling, and experience. I recommend it to everybody. Even if you don't particularly like point and clicks, just take a chance on it (for $1 or $2, for goodness sakes) and enjoy the experience. This is one of the high quality games where I don't mind that I paid full price for it, and I can't say that about a lot of games. Have a nice day everybody (or an amazing one if you play this game ).
But... But won't I feel like a total ass when the price finally hits .99, or Free, as the current trend goes? I hate that 1.99 price point. The chance of it going a dollar lower seems so, so likely... But then--maybe not, right? You never can say. Decisions, decisions.
No, I'm not comparing this game to ICO. Just saying it has similar feels of ICO (settings, sound effects, mystery, etc) and definitely its gameplay is different to what ICO offers.
This is worrying me. So, are the menu graphics blurry in the iPhone-only version or in the universal version too? Just want to make sure I'm not paying for a half-retinased version.
Since I had no luck in the help thread, could someone PLEASE provide explicit directions as to how I complete the beginning segment of session 3 (The Trigon Grove)? All of the online walkthroughs I've read are too vague. I feel like an idiot, and I've been stuck here for months.
I'M SUCH AN IDIOT. I kept walking back and forth between the two triangles on the far left and far right sides, expecting them to do something when I hit them on the bright and dark moons. But I guess they just show white and black moons (when you hit them) for decoration. D'OH! Thanks! (I had already read that walkthrough before, but reading it a second time helped)
What's the difference between EP and Micro? Besides one of them is Universal App (for iPAD)? I mean, now with the iCloud thing, I thought if you buy the Micro, and then use iCloud and you basically get the same thing on your new iPad too right?
Wow, never been a fan of point and click adventure games, but this is truly incredible. I honestly could not believe how well put together this game is. Feels more like some sort of synchronized harmony between visual and musical art. As the poster above me asked, what is the length of the game like. I finished session one, which took me about 10 minutes. It says 17% of the game is complete. So would you say you get about 50 min to an hour. I would hate to finish the game in two days. Would much rather make it last. Also, I might have to look into getting the soundtrack for this as well. I wonder if it is on itunes?
