The question is would it be beneficial to you all and the devs, or would it be better to concentrate on Sway 2? I'd surely buy the DLC myself, but seems it might be more profitable to focus on Sway 2 and even though there may be no DLC revenue, the game might be released sooner and it seems like that month or two earlier might be a highly profitable period of selling boatloads of copies @ $5-7 apiece. Regardless, I love Sway and I'm sure the marketing genius that is Illusion Labs will make a smooth decision Best of luck and continued success to you all Anders and to ReadyFireAim as well. Richard
That poll is completely unbalanced, touchgrind and labyrinth 2 came with a great amount of content and i would gladly pay for a skate park editor or things of the sort but sway came with such little content i would expect more in free update. Sway 2 would be nice though as long as it had more levels than the original.
Personally, I would buy the DLC level pack(s) if you released them, but I think you'd be better off working on a sequel. Just considering the fact that Sway has been out for ages and its been like 4 months since your last update - many people would have "completed & deleted" by now and may never even know about the new content. So I say make the sequel. Just do what you did with Labyrinth 2 - take the basic concept and expand it in every way, add all the bells and whistles. And if you can include a level editor like Labyrinth 2, that would be awesome!
I would be cool with DLC that adds levels and characters in pack(s) or: -Sway 2 with level editor. And - Touchgrind 2 with park editor. (better view of the park too. ) it's obvious illusion labs has a great way of level editor based off labirynth 2. It really set your game apart from the rest. Keep up the good work!
I never really got good enough at Sway to finish the original levels anyway BTW Anders the links in your first post don't work, I'm surprised no one else pointed it out...
Sorry, but option 3 completely removes any credibility or purpose from this poll. "I want to know what you guys think, but here's what I WANT you to think?" It may be "cute," but you can't do that if getting some genuine responses from people is of interest.
Doesn't matter too much, he just wants to see how many the votes first two options get. Anyone who would have voted the third one will probably refuse to (admit their greediness) but meh, they're not important anyway. Besides, we all know how many ignorant and greedy little kids roam these forums, Anders was probably more interested in the comments than the poll results.
Sway 2 would get a lot more recognition than a DLC pack but a sequel would have to be a total overhaul rather than more of the same. I think Illusion Labs are probably itching to try something new by now.
No Sway 2 please. As much as I love Sway, I think it has too little contents, even if compared with IL's other games. There's no real achievement, we can't customise our characters, and there's practically nothing to do once you finish all levels (not that there are many levels). I'm not belittling the game as I love it so much, it's great, polished, unique and all that. I just want to see it have an extra life. Or, if you can somehow sneak in Sway 2 to Sway 1, it would be great. I hate having 2 icons for the same game, and hate deleting Sway 1 to make room for Sway 2.
I would say it's a maybe. Our next one or two games will be new IPs, but after that maybe. Sway was done with ReadyFireAim so it's not all our decision when it comes to Sway updates, DLC or a sequel. Please keep the comments and suggestions coming, we are listening.
Wow, really? I thought it had quite a bit of content to begin with, then they added more levels after the fact. There's something like 25 levels, and 11 different characters to play as. Have you gone back and got gold on ALL the levels? If you have, that's impressive, but I haven't and I still play the game all these months later trying for it. And I still play through the levels just for fun sometimes, not even for golds. I'm not trying to be snarky, either, I'm just generally curious and personally thought Sway had a good amount of content. I agree there should only be a Sway 2 if it's truly an evolution of the franchise. Otherwise I'd gladly pay for more levels in the current Sway until the end of time.
DLC is a touchy subject that most hate, including me, because of the way people have used it. Namco has used it much too excessively and without much content in the packs. If an expansion pack was $0.99 for 10 levels, I would be more than happy to buy it. If it was something like $0.99 for 3 to 5 levels, then I wouldn't really think twice about buying it. Just have enough content in that $0.99 to make it justifiable.
