    Hi guys,

I don't usually post much here in the Lounge but today, I have a little problem that I may need your help in.

Just recently my Mac broke down. Today I got it fixed, but unfortunately everything has been wiped - my Scarlett Johansson pics, gifs, movies and other less important stuff.

So the problem is, I have nothing on my HDD, but still have my apps and music and stuff on my phone. My question is, if I sync my device will I lose everything? And is there anything I can do so this won't happen?

    Thanks,
    Kenny

    Yay! ;)

If you connect your phone to the new wiped iTunes it will ask what you want to do. If you don't want it to wipe everything, you simply click "no". After that, you can select "transfer purchases" after right clicking on the iThing and off it will go.

For added security, fiddle with the settings in iTunes and make sure that "sync automatically" is off.

Yeah as Echoseven says, be very careful to follow the prompts well. It is easy to accidentally wipe your songs on your iphone via itunes sync if you don't toggle the right settings. Proceed carefully and all things will go ok, but one errant command could cause a complete wipe, so be a little careful and prepared.

Thanks for that. Since my Music folder on my Mac is empty, if I select transfer purchases will that fill the Music folder with everything that is on my Phone?

I'm gonna let that one slide. Lucky you gave me a good answer ;)
