This game has potential

Here's my iTunes review: "Game looks good, has an interesting gameplay concept. However, the controls leave MUCH to be desired. Seemingly unnecessrily difficult controls that are both hard to master the rythym-perhaps I am just bad at it-but also the response of the controls is lacking. If it is a left side left paddle/right side right paddle control scheme(and I think it is), I found when the boat begins to turn dramatically the controls stop working properly-left side became right and so on. IF I am supposed to swipe the paddles themselves then the accuracy of the swipes needs to be improved-I tried swiping the right paddle when it was over on the left of the screen and found it was sometimes responding to the left paddle. I really wanted to like this game, but for now I am reserved-this will stay on my iPod with the hopes of an update to tweak the control scheme to make it at least more responsive. Definitely try the free version first to see if this app is for you. Also DESPERATELY needs a pause button during gameplay. I found myself wanting to pause it several times and had no option-leaving me even more frustrated."

Controls drove me nuts. I watched the demo but I'm still struggling with precision. Also no pause button?? That bugged the heck out of me but is a simple fix(I hope).

 

You use two fingers and swipe down from the top of the screen to the bottom at the same time. But make sure you have it always swiping to the left and the right sides of the screen, they're the control, you don't swipe at the paddles. I learnt by experience. Anyways, nice link choice, I was waiting for another game on that site for an hour. Anyways, I'll be posting a review shortly. I'm currently downloading some games making my net slow.

Okay, there's a big thing you can't miss when you first play this game evern the lite version.It is the Great graphics TapTap Boat Race has. I like the idea to this game and could be so epic with some of my ideas. First of all, the controls are pretty confusing, but it can get used to, I kinda get the logic after playing around with it a bit. Left side is right arm and right side is left arm of the person on the boat. So even if you turn around it still has the same controls. At first I tried dragging the paddle which is considerable due to the fact that the demo really doesn't tell much, probably adding words to it or changing the whole controls. Another biggy is the 'Pause' menu, every game must have it!Some of my ideas are to have a shop to upgrade and buy paddles or new boats or even dressing your rower up. Another feature that would be awesome is a Wifi/bluetooth , player vs player, getting ,money and even a free roam around (I like roam arounds like 'GTA'). Overall this app is worth the 1 buck, but be sure to try the Lite version, i'm sure you'll like the graphics too.
