I've been tested this several times and I can confirm it works
How to restart a boss fight:
Before entering a boss room, exit to main manu
Go back to game, fight the boss and when (if) you die (only AFTER you die) forced-close the game WITHOUT waiting for the game over message (if you forced-close it before dying, you'll be left with the remaining life in the boss room and you'll be fighting a full-lives boss) - you have one or two seconds to do this
Entering the game again will let you outside the boss room, with no life waisted

 

Beat mom for the first time just now but in my excitement my finger hit the screen and I skipped my ending lol

 

You can watch it again in the menu

 

Think you might me onto to something here. I've tested it and it's very quick. I think you need to force quit right as Isaac falls over and it does the animation for his soul leaving, but before you get the game over summary.

You can get 9 lives plus 7 hearts
I am currently using this seed to try to unlock Samson cause the first two bosses are pretty easy and the floor enemies are as well so I think I can do it (crosses fingers)
You find the 9 lives on the second floor through the door that causes damage
You get a key from the longish room to the right where you kill a bunch of various enemies when they drop the key go back to the gold locked door where you will find cancer symbol that adds the hp/hearts and adds protection

 

^You know you won't be able to unlock him (or any character/achievement) if you manually enter seeds.

 

Afraid seeds can't be used to unlock just about anything (though there is some conflicting info on this, and there does seem to be a few specific exceptions, so here's to me being wrong). But most likely, you will not get Samson from using a seeded run.

 

Dude, you CANNOT unlock samson in a seeded run. You may notice a tiny "no trophy" icon on the left side of the screen.....that means that you cant unlock something new in that particular game (in your case ,samson)

 

Every time you beat moms heart you get another Eden token.

 

So what is everyone's favorite playable character and item so far?
I'm loving Samson. His damage increase as levels progress is awesome! And my favorite items are Daddy Longlegs and Rotten Baby.

 

Also, does anyone have a good item guide app that I can purchase? There are multiple on the App Store just want to get the best one. There are way too many items and such to remember what they all do.
