So I picked up a book a while ago at BN. It's this book filled with a random and delicious assortment of puzzles... wow, I said delicious, that's... that's a new low. Anyways, solving puzzles only gives so much satisfaction if you're working alone, so I decided to spread the love. I'll post a puzzle now, and once it's solved, I'll post a new one. Note: I refuse to look at the answers at the back of the book, so I'm as clueless as you guys are, I'll solve them alongside. I'll post the winner of each puzzle on here. If nobody gets it after a while, I'll post the answer. If this catches on, I'll see if I can get prizes in here, too. 1) OE XYHSWSNH SN O WOE BRX NHOJHN O MJXNNBXJZ YPFFCD BSHR O IXPEHOSE YDE. Solved by Mindfield. 2) What is the missing number in this list? 1. 64. 125. 216. 729. 13,824. ?. 15,625. 132,651.
Oh, I have two riddles. 1. What is the thing that's most unafraid of the cold? 2. What is the thing that's most afraid of the cold? Will post answer after five guesses.
I think you might have made a small typo in that cryptogram. The first E in EXPEHOSE should be something else I think, because it should solve out to "An optimist is a man who starts a crossword puzzle with a fountain pen" but that first E in EXPEHOSE makes it solve out to "nountain," but there are no other Fs in the puzzle to tell me what that E should be.
If you try to fail and win at failing, what have you done? you failed, successfully. If North is South and South is East, which way is West if Portugal is to the right instead of the left? lame, portugal could be to the right or the left, depending on your position so west is still west since you never specified that it changed.
A basket contains 5 apples. Do you know how to divide them among 5 kids so that each one has an apple and one apple stays in the basket. Why can't a man living in the USA be buried in Canada?
What are: two things that should never come in direct contact with each other! 1) Put one kid in the basket! 2) I doubt the living man would enjoy being buried...
