Is it me or there's no really good games out recently? I think that it's because of the iPad. Maybe lot of developpers try to put their apps on iPad and doesn't have time to spend for good games? The only games I bought recently and that I loved was Hungry Shark and Fruit Ninja, but again maybe this is only me...
There aren't really many good games coming out for iPad currently, I hope that they'll be released soon. I've ignored my iPod since I got my iPad. Super Quick Hook is coming out soon (probably), that's really good.
I've picked up a new game or two but its been mostly discounted or free games I'd gotten that I've been wanting anyways. There has been some good deals that have come out recently so I'm content with what I've found. On the plus side, I'm finding more time to actually play the games now. (referring to iphone/touch games, btw)
May isn't the best month on many systems. Two great games on other systems: 1- Read Dead Redemption 2- Super Mario Galaxy 2
My, my, you literate young'un. Unless you mean on systems other than iDevices. Then I'm just being a jackass.
Don't be jealous of iPad users yet. Recently the iPhone platform got Splinter Cell and Zombie Infection but no love for the iPad...for now. The iPhone/iPod touch has more users and a bigger market. So fear not, my little one. And I've been waiting for Chaos Rings HD forever.
I've been having a slow few months on the App Store. On PS3 I've bought BFBC2, FFXIII, God of War 3, Just Cause 2, Red Dead Redemption, Blur and ModNation Racers, on my iPod... maybe... one game? I'm sure it's not just me losing interest, I'm still on the edge of my seat waiting for Sword & Sworcery EP.
Plenty of great stuff has come out recently -- take a look at the Game of the Month (GOTM) thread. To quote myself: Add to that 100 Rogues (after the updates), Steam Pirates, Pocket Creatures, Dragooo, Black Tie, Shrek 4 (the platformer), Prince of Persia Retro, Cubed Racers, LilRacerz, The Package, Kometen, Assault Squadron, and Pirate Treasure. What are people complaining about again?
Gotta love how people want to blame the iPad for everything. No great games this month? It's the iPad's fault!! Well, there aren't all that many great games on the iPad right now, either. That will change, though, since the iPad is such a worldwide sensation. I am hoping that with OS 4, there will be a lot more Universal apps coming out. I'd like to be able to play the games I purchase on both my iPad and my...umm...mini-iPad!
Actually, I didn't complain about the iPad, and I didn't said there were more good games on iPad. I only said that many developers, instead of making new games port their existing games in HD.
Ya, you just mis-interpreted it. I said on many other systems. It's alright. I meant the point May is not a good month for videogames in many ways.
To be honest you weren't very clear about developers porting games to iPad, you were vague in your opening post. As for anything else, things slow down and then pick up during the upcoming months, there's so much to wait for like the new OS, so maybe they aren't rushing apps out due to that? Or maybe the market is so full of crap apps, that they are working on more quality than quantity.
Phoenix Wright is now on the App Store! How can you complain about a lack of good games when there's Phoenix Wright! And on top of that, both Zombie Infection and Splinter Cell came out this month, Prince of Persia: The Warrior Within coming soon, and other releases like Bruce Lee, my new favorite iDevice fighting game, SteamPirates, which I havn't had a chance to play yet, Pirate's Gold, which is turning out to be a pretty good dual-stick shooter, Hector: Badge of Carnage, and more.
I thought that only two games in the GOTM consideration were good. LASW and Phoenix Wright. Thats about it. This month wasn't so appealing to me, but that allowed me to play all those games I neglected.
I wasn't clear that's what you meant, so maybe I misinterpreted it. There seems to be a lot of anti-iPad sentiment on this forum. Can't really figure out why. Playing games on the iPad is awesome--it is so much better than on my old Touch.
maybe devolpers are waiting to show there games off at the conference so their taking some extra time to polish up.
Or maybe they're waiting for the right time of season. Sales are much greater around November/December and that is when most games come out. But I doubt this trend matters in the app store.
