E3 starts this Monday at 10:30 AM with the Microsoft conference. They should have plenty of good stuff, including Gears of War 3, Fable 3, Halo Reach, etc. but Natal will probably be their main focus. On Tuesday at 9:00 AM, everyone will have their eyes on Nintendo. They have 2 of the, if not the, biggest announcements: Nintendo 3DS and finally The Legend of Zelda Wii. Expect to see also some software for the Vitality Sensor plus some epic stuff, and by epic I mean Epic Mickey. At 12:00 AM, Sony conferences start. They have already revealed most of their upcoming games, so whatever they have planned to unveil in the show (if there's anything new) remains a mystery. Move should be one of the focuses of their conference. This thread is for news that come out of the event (not related to iPhone).
Is G4 the only channel covering E3? Spike might but G4 has no commertials during the confernces. I guess G4 will be my best bet for channel right?
Sony better have something big rolled up their sleeve. Their wand hasn't gained much traction, and with the Natal and 3DS, both Microsoft and Nintendo have all they need to steal the show. This year's been and is gonna continue being a great year for gaming. Hope they've got some great stuff planned to sucker us out of our cash.
As far as I know only G4 is covering it. They seem to have 12 hours or so coverage over 3-4 days. I can't see any other network giving it more than just a quick overview on some news/talk show or other. You can probably follow the news on joystiq.com and kotaku.com. I'm not sure if it will be as up to the minute as G4, but they usually do a good job. Also, more iPhone/iPad specific, I think you should be able to find lots of info on www.pocketgamer.co.uk and www.pocketgamer.biz
Omega-F, are you a 360 fan? Haha I just find it funny how you talk about Microsoft showing off Fable 3, Halo Reach, and Gears of War 3, with Natal, which should be a pretty good show, but because Sony has showed some teaser trailers and one piece of InFamous cover art, they have nothing to show. Hope I didn't offend you, but I thought that was funny. One thing I'm looking forward to is the 3DS. It'll be cool to see how they pull off 3D without glasses. That could be really cool if it works. Another thing that could be really cool is Natal. I honestly don't look forward to it for the gaming aspects, because I don't see it working very well with hardcore gaming, but in the commercial when they showed the parents picking a movie on Netflix with it... That could be way awesome with media browsing. I'm really looking forward to E3 this year though. It's gonna be good.
Let's all hope the 3DS doesn't end up like this failure: With that aside I really think the Playstation Move is by far one of the stupidest things. I understand they have the "HD console" but come on, it's a blatant rip-off of Wii. I am looking forward to inFamous 2 and Little Big Planet 2 though. As for Microsoft, eh I'm not much of a 360 gamer so I don't care too much but I'll still see what they're up to.
The PS Move is going to be more advanced than the Wii, instead of just giving the remote a flick to roll the bowling ball or swing the baseball bat, you'll really have to swing it. I'm looking forward to LittleBigPlanet 2, Motorstorm: Apocalypse, inFamous 2, Crysis 2, Medal of Honor, Star Wars: TFU2, Grand Turismo 5, and Final Fantasy 14: Online Look at the PS2's life span and ad a year or two
Eh whatever, I still think they shouldn't try and comepete with the gaming gods themselves, Nintendo. I'll still check it out though. Also, I for got to mention Batman Arkham Asylum 2, I just finished the first one last night and it was crazy . LOL ya, we're not seeing that for many, many years to come.
Good looking games for just XBOX: Fable III, Gears of War 3, Halo: Reach, and Natal Good looking games for just PS3: DC Universe Online, Gran Turismo 5, Killzone 3, LittleBigPlanet 2, SOCOM 4, The Last Guardian, PS Move, Final Fantasy XIV, MotorStorm Apocalypse, inFAMOUS 2, Agent(maybe), Resistance 3(maybe) Good looking games for both: CoD: Black Ops, Mafia II, Guitar Hero 7(?), Test Drive Unlimited 2, Fallout New Vegas, Brink, Dead Rising 2, Bulletstorm, Crysis 2, Fifa 11, Madden 11, Medal of Honor, Rock Band 3, Assassins Creed Brotherhood, Ghost Recon: Future Soldier, Batman Arkham Asylum 2. Microsoft needs to unveil some more games if they want to steal the show. (Tell me if I forgot any)
Microsoft: GoW3 and possibly Mass Effect 3(if the rumors on Kotaku turn out to be true). Only those two games, also known as the only reasons I still haven't sold my 360. Sony: Maybe a PSP2 who knows, more info. on KH3 and FFvs13 from Square would be nice and that's it. Nintendo: 3DS and Zelda Wii. As far as first party titles for Sony and MS I have nothing. I have absolutely no interest in Natal or Move.
Rock Band 3 kinda has me interested. I didn't expect the keyboard to go down well, but 25 keys sounds pretty good, and new guitars with six separate "strings"? Sounds difficult, but it gives me something new to master.
Nintendo is automatically the winner I mean they are going to announce the new Zelda, Reveal off the 3DS, Show us some other games still in development alot of us want to see. And hopefully announcing other games as well (like a new Kid Icarus PLEASE) Microsofts Natal should be cool but unless they announce a new Xbox system (which I highly doubt they will with the Natal about to be released) it will just be a good yet not great E3 And Sony's is kind of a mixed bag, I mean they could announce some cool new games and also show off the new motion controller but it's nothing that should be groundbreaking.
No kidding, sounds difficult. Take a look at this puppy. One hundred and two buttons spanning seventeen frets. People can probably learn how to play real guitar with this thing. Plus it and the keyboard have MIDI out, so there's a slew of crap you can do with it other than just RB3. Of course, all the hardware is going to be made by Mad Catz (according to Engadget) so it might end up sucking. But so far I'm quite intrigued.
... I thought rhythm games were about instant gratification. This thing isn't a guitar-shaped controller, it's an actual ****ing guitar! I already have one of those.
