Nova has better graphics, but I would say this has more strategic game play, at least on the later levels.
I think they provide different experiences. After the update, the difference in graphics and polish is less than before, but considering how few SF-themed FPSs there are in the App store, there's no reason not to get both. (Personally, I prefer the Dark Forces/Half-Life vibe of IP, but that's me).
