It looks to be closer to KOF XII/XIII, based on the screenshots. The addition of Billy Kane to the roster coincides with Kane being added to the XIII console release, and the XIV arcade release. XII has a very small roster, esp compared to previous games, as they had redrawn all the sprites (after having reused/retouched sprites for the previous 10 revisions or so).
If this is done half as well as Street Fighter IV was on the iPhone as far as controls go, this shouldn't be a big deal. I never found it that difficult to pull off combos on the iPhone version compared to the 360 or arcade versions. And like squarezero said before, it might not seem like a big difference to those who aren't too into fighting games, but there are some pretty big differences between the KoF series and Street Fighter series. If I can manage to find the money on my account somewhere I'll definitely be picking this up ASAP. As for the characters, it doesn't seem that bad overall. I played a LOT of KoF one night with my friend (forget which game it was though), and it seems like they have most of the major characters. With any luck, this will receive continued support through updates like SFIV. Overall though, I'm just glad there's finally a true 2D fighter on the iPhone
Here you go,some Mai fire attacking This game is mint btw...Might not have the multiplayer as yet but still I'm liking this more than SFIV at the moment, others may disagree though Subscribe to the TouchArcade YouTube channel
I do like the character selection, it just happens to match up with the characters I learned back during the NESTS saga. I'm sure there are ppl sad about lack of Athena, Kim, Kensou, Ralf, and Clark, but it's really a good start for a first release.
Wondering if I should pick it up since I already have both Street fighters. The fact that it doesn't have online sucks though.
Someone needs a MUCH BETTER PR person. Also, where the hell is IORI?!? And did someone just really call this a Street Fighter "clone"??? Kids these days.
Definitely picking this up tomorrow once i get some credit. Proper 2d fighting that doesn't look like a poor flash animation? Hell yeah, and KoF? Even better. All that i'm hoping for is a DLC update with Vanessa. EDIT: Also, forget your fancy-pants Samurai Shodown- i wanna see Last Blade on iOS!
Because it is. SNK has been around for almost as long as Street Fighter, although not quite as popular. Now... if only they would port Guilty Gear (BlazBlue) to iOS...
