  11. Be careful with this -- they're skating a fine line with Twitter's terms of service.

I played around with Twiends a bit over the weekend. While it's true you can get lots of followers quickly, it's equally true that most of those followers with either (A) unfollow you immediately after getting your seeds or (B) get blocked by Twitter for aggressively following/unfollowing too many people at once or (C) get blocked by Twitter because they're spam bots. I went from 190 followers to 235 followers back down to 214 -- so it's not quite the magic bullet it seems. Keep that in mind if you're considering pulling out your credit card to buy seeds.

IMHO, it's better to organically grow your followers list with real people who actually think your game is cool. They'll stick around and do a much better job of helping you spread the word.

And while I'm here, props to innovatty for running the list and for all the Twitter advice. :)

Followers are worthless. Qualified fans who follow your feed are valuable. So just rapping the numbers doesn't do you any good. You want followers who will retweet, who will tell their friends.

You're absolutely right. What matters really is the number of qualified followers. That's why we encourage the IDRTG group members to follow each other.

Nevertheless, having a high number of followers (any followers) usually encourages more followers. Some of those will be helpful.

Thanks for sharing your experience with Twiends.com. I think you summarized it right. Let me add my insight to this.

There is nothing more annoying than someone getting your seeds and then unfollow you. Some people follow you just for seeds. These people will eventually unfollow you. However, I think the majority follow you because they want you to follow them back. If you don't follow them back within a certain period, they will just unfollow you. I follow back almost everyone that follows me and that's why I have over 6,000 followers and the number is on the rise. There is a rule in Twitter that you can't follow more than 110% of the number of followers you have*. If you follow someone that doesn't follow you back, you lose the chance of getting a follower.

Bottom line, if you want to keep the followers you get from Twiends, just follow back. However, If you don't like following many people, then Twiends will not work for you.

    * This rule applies when you have more than 2,000 followers.
