THEM: The Story - Behind the scenes app of the making of an iOS game Hey there everyone! Some of you may know about a game that I have had in the works for about a year that was previously called "THEM". Development has kind of been up and down as I have been doing a ton of freelance work over the past year and barely being able to work on the game in that time. However, I came up with a unique idea of how to track the progress on the game better, as well as how to keep me in check to actually release the game! That "idea" was "THEM:The Story". This is a behind the scenes app that focuses on the entire development process of how to create a game for the iOS platform and the work that went into creating, what is now called, "THEM:Alpha". In the app, I take you through a series of "Chapters" that focus on initial idea/concept, overall design, main character, etc. When the app launches, it will contain three chapters full of content with a new chapter being added (Initially) bi-weekly. I may increase it to an update per week if I get more done on the game in a shorter time frame. Chapters that are coming up shortly after launch, will focus on: Weapons, Enemies, Animation, Vehicles, Game Center, Designing for Mobile, "It's All In The Details", etc. There will also be playable gameplay several weeks after launch that allows the user to test out the game before it gets released! I have finished the app and submitted it to Apple for a possible launch this week or next. (Depending on how long it takes to go through the App Store review process) It's my goal for this app to help give everyone a deeper understanding of the shear amount of work that goes into creating an iPhone/iPad/iPod touch video game. It will help me connect with everyone and force me to finish my game in a timely manner. Initially, "THEM:The Story" will be released for the iPad with a universal update coming shortly after for iPhone/iPod touch. The app will be free for the first couple weeks of availability. Hey there everyone! Sorry about the long wait on news about "THEM". I've created a new thread about a behind the scenes app for the making of, what is now called, "THEM:Alpha" here. The app (THEM:The Story) will be released in the next week or so (initially) for the iPad and will show you what goes into making a game for the iOS platform. This app will also force me to stay up to date on the progress of the game and release it in a timely manner. Up until this point I've been doing a ton of freelance work and have been unable to work on the game itself. But I have finally gotten time away from all of that to finish up the game and get it out! Thanks for all your patience and continued support! You have no idea how much I appreciate it!
Haha. I know what you mean. I almost forgot about it. But the game should be done soon, especially now that I'm releasing "THEM:The Story" within a week or so! That'll help keep me on track plus give everyone updates constantly.
