What I got out of it, and I'm surely over simplifying, is this 3-in-1 expansion on the same map was all about new Destination cards. You have the option to play with just some of the new Destination cards or combine the original and new Destination cards for an even bigger blast. This expansion also adds a new 15 point end of game bonus to the player who has completed the most destinations in the game.
Jane Stanbot and Vanderbot Jr (the latter is only available in the original base game). There's an achievement for winning a game against four Jrs. The three new modes are: Classic, which provides 35 new tickets to replace the original ones, and also replaces the end-game bonus for having the longest route with one for having the most tickets completed. Probably the least interesting of the new modes. Mega, which uses all 69 tickets from the base game and expansion, and uses both the Longest Route and Globe Trotter (most tickets) bonuses. Big Cities, in which every ticket will have Chicago, Dallas, Houston, L.A., Miami, New York or Seattle as one of the destinations (the other end can be any of the other cities as normal).
Thanks, I wasn't aware that there were different difficulty modes for the characters, it isn't mentioned anywhere [if it is, then I must have missed it] I think i'll stump up the $1 for the new modes, I find i've been playing this a lot, it's quite addicting.
Anyone having a problem buying the new expansion? I get this error message every time I try. I've tried uninstalling the game and reinstalling it, and that didn't help.
i didn't have that error when getting the IAP. thanks appletini for explaining the AI levels. i also had no idea, and now i guess that's why i keep winning against Loughbot and Huntingbot! i also didn't realize how the bonus in classic was different...though, i noticed it was different in some way. i know it's not a top priority for the average game dev, but i wish this had a japanese language option (or at least for the tutorial). i'd like to play this with my wife!
Got the update earlier today and am enjoying it. New cards and different bonus objectives mix things up nicely.
Same thing happened to me But my error message is slightly different Edit: Ok so I manually closed the game and then tried to buy it again and this time the popup did appear "do you want to....etc" so I press ok and the password prompt came up but there's no keyboard! So I can't put in my password Edit 2: Finally managed to get the update. I updated one of my other apps, and then came back to TTR and then tried the purchase again, this time the keyboard popped up and the purchase went through fine.
So Vanderbot isn't in the 1910 games? Has the AI for the rest of the players improved any in the last couple of updates (I recall that at least the initial crop of AI players loved to draw lots of extra Destination cards and invariably suffered big penalties at the end of the game)?
No from what I can see, Vanderbot isn't there. And the AI dont draw too many extra cards/penalties, atleast not that i've noticed, they do do it from time to time though. The available AI characters are - C Huntingbot - Jane Stanbot - Marg Lougbot
Has anyone heard of the Ticket to Ride getting an iOS update of any kind? I'd love some new maps but, in all honesty, I'd just like to have it fill my screen and work properly with GameCenter.
So, I noticed something interesting with the bot naming on each map. Your default/initial choice of AI always has a different name according to each map in the game with the other 3 being the same old bots avaialable for every map. Is this just cute or does it mean that those initial bots on each map have strategies optimized for that given map?
The AIbots become animals after new update#I hope they go back let me play solo game for relax again!!!!!
