I love these threads. Ahh, $10. The cost of a Subway sandwhich paired with chips and a drink. And less than half the cost of the same game on other platforms. If you want it, just buy it. I think it was worth $10, and I barely have the opportunity to play it - generally prefering simpler pick-up and play titles.
This is quite possibly the greatest portable game ever made. It's a fully realized GTA game. Buy it right now!
Actually, with experience you will learn that that bromide is simply not true: some things are better than others. Of course, the fact that something is good doesn't mean that you will like it; conversely, the fact you don't like something doesn't mean it's bad. There are legitimate reasons for someone not to like GTA:CW. It might not be your kind of gameplay; you may object to the content, or the lack of morality, etc. What can't be denied is that the game is a quality production: well written, well designed, with production values that are well beyond any other game that has been come to the platform. The decision to pick it up should not be based on whether the game is "worth" $10.00 -- it clearly is. The issue is whether it's the kind of game that you would enjoy. If it is, pick it up. If it's not, don't.
If you have a DS, you should get the DS version (only $19.99). If you only have an iPhone/Touch, why not, go for it.
hmm well I wouldn't say the $10 price is a steal but its not a ripoff either. For a handheld game its enjoyable enough and its from a bigtime company. If you're a fan of GTA games on the console or handheld then I don't think you'll regret buying it. And its loaded with content too.
One of the most logical things I have ever read on these forums... the problem is that I always want games, but I never play them I guess that is really my own problem, but it always makes me so hesitant to buy especially when the price is this "steep" I put steep in quotes because it is obviously more than a fair price for this full featured game. On the other hand, my previous comparison highlights how price doesn't necessarily have to go up directly with quality in any definition of the word, it is all just supply and demand. I am sure I could find a game that would provide an equal amount of fun for a lower price, the question is if I want to be having the same amount of fun playing this game or another, perhaps cheeper, game. There are so many other deciding factors that while the latter is the logical answer, it is not necessarily the best.
i think this will be like COD, its console quality, it doesnt and shouldnt drop, 10 is a steal for this
One of my favorite recent game downloads, the Infinity Project, was only $1.99. Another, Puzzlings, was free. You're right -- price has little to do with how much you will enjoy a game. You should certainly not feel "bullied" into buying a game you wouldn't like (or would never have time to play).
Uhm... have you played Chinatown Wars? It's like saying what makes Modern Warfare 2 worth $50 more than Hello Kitty Island Adventures... *sigh* I guess some people just don't get it...
I currently use my 1g for gaming so I can't get this one since it is not compatible with the device. I'll wait till I upgrade when the new gen comes out.
Advantages: -Loads of gamelife -Lots of weapons -Lots of hidden things -Large map -Decent storyline -Cheap compared to the DS and PSP versions
