I voted dont buy simply because im mad at Rockstar, they have not released Beaterator or Chinatown Wars in the New Zealand app store.

As long as it doesn't exceed the price of equally polished titles (whatever the console is), if you are tempted to try it, just buy it ;)

Just one thing I would say to Rockstar though : Why isn't there any demo version ? Not everybody already knows Chinatown wars ...

Anyway, I'm not a fan of GTA titles, but just to thank Rockstar for bringing appstore games to an even higher level, I will buy it.

Infinity Project is that good? I might need to take another look at it. As I recall the reception in the thread seemed lukewarm. From yourself included? Though I didn't follow it for more than a couple of pages.

On Infinity Project: the developer listened to our criticism and updated the heck out of the game. Once the controls were fixed, I was able to discover that it had a ridiculous amount of content (7 hours +) and quite a few tricks up it sleeve. The feel is definitely old school, which I think is why some people have reacted so negatively to it (see the comments to the otherwise positive STP review). But it's one of the few shooters on the platform that comes across as a complete game.

Tried it... You need to be able to forgive a LOT to like this game... And I'm damn glad I didn't try the controls before they "fixed" them...I haven't died one too many times yet because of the jerky targeting but I'm close. Only reason I intend to persevere, if only for maybe for a short while, is because in some weird way this reminds me a little bit of Half Life. Oh, and what's with the (lack of) saving? Restart from last checkpoint only would be passable IF it actually told you when you've reached a checkpoint? Anyway, sorry, wrong thread for this.

im at 8 percent and iv spent so many hours in the game.. so many hours.. iv got my money out of it +20.. most games i purchase I can beat in a couple of days. im not a die hard gamer.. just casual.. i honestly doubt ill ever finish gta. just so many side things to do than your regular missions. i know one thing other games may come and go.. but GTA will always be on my idevice. period.

i liked gangstar a lot when it came out, but this game blows gangstar out of the water. theres just so much more to do - so many more side missions, hidden items, things to do, and little touches that make the world feel much more "real" and alive than gangstar. the storyline and writing is also a lot better. gangstar just feels very bland and basic in comparison to Chinatown wars.

It's funny how the people who bought the game now thinks it's ridiculous for anyone not to like it. Since when did a GTA become "suitable for all audience, players of all genres"? I can't find a game that is more distant from that than this series. So what lots of people like a sandbox-style game where half the script contains expletives and it's encouraged to kill every single police you see and create havoc? You'd expect everyone to have the same preferences? Let me ask you this: Final Fantasy was considered one of the most achieved RPGs, but does everyone like it? I think not. GTA may be a good game to a particular player group, but for the people who think everyone must like this game, grow up.

i kinda agree. but i think i know why people say that. its cuz its the first and only real console quality game on the iphone. so now everyone says its amazing because they are comparing it to the smaller (and much cheaper) "mini games" that the iphone is used to. (im not saying that GTA is better than other iphone games, but it sure is bigger and more well known)

Nobody has to like it but most people should be aware enough to appreciate the production value on it compared to other appstore titles. Nobody expects everyone to like the genre but this game deserves the praise its been getting.

i bought gangstar to compare the two.. gta, gangstar.. because of the few 1 stars review saying its better. i agree with your opinion hamstarz. i just wonder about the people who like gangstar they seem to like it because the controls are easier for them..and the first person point of view is there main points in there review. so lets say gta had first person point of view.. what would they argue about then.... humans love to argue... and hate change.

I did. I've never finished a GTA game. So for me, it's not an "instant" buy at $10.
