1. Ikaros 2. Van Pershing 3. Inspector Gadget's MAD Dash 4. Hook World 5. Falling Fred 6. The Incident 7. Gravity Guy 8. Ninjump Deluxe 9. Dalton 10. Doodle Monster Honorable mentions: Mr. Bump, Monster Runner, Spike Dislike, Canabalt, Monster Dash, Rogue Runner, Rainbow Pony, Robot Unicorn Attack, Doodle Jump, Tiny Wings, Chop Chop Runner, Dead Runner, One Infinite Tunnel, Tunnel Shoot, Retro Revolution.
The whole premise of this game is too racist for me. Indigenous tribes chasing a white guy as he runs like hell for his life? Yeah, right, try the other way around. White guys have been invading, killing, and chasing indigenous tribes off their land for centuries, still happening right now. This game overtly reinforces racist stereotypes and cultural myths, not something I want to support.
Favorite runners: line runner. Ovenbreak is pretty good too... as is jailbreak(er?) by triniti.... I've deleted van pershing, dalton, rogue runner, chop chop runner, and dino rush recently. I escpecially hated dino rush. I can see it's appeal but it just didn't appeal to me.
Thanks for this thread, guys! I actually bought my ipod touch last year, because of Canabalt. Since then, there have been so many great evolutions of that formula that it's hard to keep track! I grabbed Dead Runner, and will prob pick up IMR tonight.
While Canabalt introduced me to the genre and definitely deserves it's legacy, putting it in the top 10 running games is absolutely ridiculous. So many other games have come out and built on the foundation Canabalt created. But I digress and participate - my favorite endless running game is Bit.Trip Runner followed closely by Robot Unicorn Attack & Hook Worlds. All of them are examples of having "just enough" variety in your game to prevent it from getting boring. Of course Bit.Trip Runner isn't out on the iPhone...
I disagree. I think Canabalt deserves to be righ tup there. Maybe not number one, but certainly top ten. Theres just something about the game that keeps me coming back to it - its so perfectly focused and I really like the look and the overall design. Theres others that have come along and added things to the genre and thats cool, but Canabalt is still a great runner...
I've played all of those except for 2 and 4. I'd say Run! is my favorite endless runner though... Sad it's not on the list.
Opening things up a tad, My top Endless XYZ Games: G.I. Joyride So Long, Oregon! (OK, so this one's not endless...) Super Quickhook Mr. AAH! Hook Worlds Rat on a Scooter XL Still mixed on Canabalt - bought it for a buck when it was on sale (mostly to say that I did) and while I love the art/music of the game, it never grabbed me more than any of the above (OK, well maybe more than Rat on a Scooter XL, but who can resist the cute farting rat? ) All set to love Action Buggy, but it's too damned hard for me! Lotsa good tunnel games too...
Guys, you messed up. You may list your fav games. Ok, it doesn't matter we can say PvZ is endless playing game, and Doodle Jump is endless...jumping. You know that they are all endless stuff so and so.
