Hi, I was just woundering if there is a web page like toucharcade, but not for games but for apps. toucharcade is an awesome page, but it's only about games. what about productivity apps? something good as this page? Thank you!
Try googling, or some of the links on the sidebar of the main TA page. You might need to scroll down the page a bit to see them.
I dont see any such rule. You are not allowed to self promote. But mentioning a site(with which you have no direct connection) while answering someone`s question wont be against any rule IMO.
Slidetoplay and a bunch of others are reportedly rigging their reviews. A more favorable and faster (time to write) review for advertising. I really hope TA doesn't do this, can arn or Hodapp confirm?
I think you`ve been here at the site for long enough to know that your self bat. Almost half of the games reported on TA Front page are from unknown indie devs and no one even knew they existed before appearing up in the forums. And they get to the front page within one day, most of the times within a couple of hours. So I really doubt anything like this could be going on here.
wow.. now my brain is filling up with conspiracy theories, it's all starting to make sense now...lol....delusions aside...think about the question you just asked. If TA did this (which I 100% think they do NOT), would anyone from the site admit to it? Of course not....so what's the point of asking the question? I also don't think it's fair to accuse any site without evidence You sure you didn't get TBN'd upside the head?
I doubt that any site actually rigs their reviews and if Slide To Play did, it would completely go against their O.A.T.S. Oath.
I think bat`s slightly delirious today. He even called me a badger earlier And in anycase I have way too much faith in Arn to believe something like this could ever be possible. Now Hodapp I cant really say for sure But no seriously, I dont believe TA could ever do something like this. With one of the main reason being "They dont need to" Slight favoritism may be, but nothing out of the line. In fact I have started admiring TA a lot more than I used to earlier once I joined the forums and realized how hard these devs are struggling to survive. TA featuring their games definitely helps get the word out. IMO TA is almost perfect. Almost, thanx only to a non-legendary bear
here's the long version: http://toucharcade.com/toucharcade-advertising-and-editorial-policies/ short version: our most important client is the game buying reader, so everything we do is in their best interest. That means reporting big name games, games we like and think they'll like, and other interesting news. There are other sites that do ask developers to pay for an expedited review... and that's crap. And that's one reason why those sites don't have an large readership. arn
I'm so sorry Arn, it's just to darn tempting no to.... jsut for the laughs people, just for the laughs. In any case It would be nice to have more space for productivity apps but logic and marketing are on Arns side and it's def not his fault.
What. The. Heck. Why the hell would we rig our reviews at Slide To Play. Our goal is to give our readers a quality perspective on games in order to help them make an informed decision on what to buy. This is all a conspiracy, and it disgusts me.
I find it kind of funny that you put what the heck in the first part and why the hell in the second part. And I think that's generally every review sites goal but ya people will speculate there is nothin you can do about it.
What the heck happened to responding to the original question? The newbie who started this thread must be scratching his head. Can't blame him...the thread has been totally derailed by conspiracy theorists and those who feel the need to respond to them! To the OP: there is a small section of this forum dedicated to apps other than games, but it doesn't seem to attract much attention. I usually use sites like whatsoniphone and CNET for non-game app reviews.
I wouldn't accuse a site without evidence And arn, that's exactly what the developer told me; expedited reviews for advertising.
