hmmm... gonna wait b4 my nominations to catch up on some playing. Some games won't make it for me because they won't run well enough on my 4th gen, even if they are awesome. IB2 (haven't even been able to play it), and MC3 (terrible lag online) come to mind.

Terrible lag... Hmm, that is weird since I do not have any lag on my iTouch 3rd gen while playing MC3...
well its the retina. Typically, hardware intensive games may look better on the 4th gen, but they run smoother on the 3rd.
True. I'll be interested to see what games will make it to the GOTY Top Ten. This will be a hard decision IMO.

I'd love to see Amazing Breaker at least get an honorable mention. It was nothing innovative, but it did what it did flawlessly. I couldn't tell you whether it was a brick-breaker or a physics-based flinger or what. But it brought out a rare obsession in me, and I Could Not Quit. Finally getting 100% on every level gave me such a feel of triumph... Especially having played the final level perhaps hundreds of times. I'd have shouted out loud, but the game had kept me awake into the wee hours, and I didn't think my neighbors in my building would share my enthusiasm in the middle of the night. Anyway, for a fairly simple game it did require a level of skill and timing and strategy that I've not found in any similar title. Great game. (And did I mention explosions? There are explosions.)

Has anyone kept track of game of the week (gow) polls? I would be curious to see a list of gow winners. Maybe next year it'd be worth consideration to distill the gow winners down to determine a Game of the Year. The gow selections might more consistentry reflect opinion throughout the year (otherwise people are bias towards feeling newer more recent releases are superior).

Yep, we've definitely seen our share of hits this year. That thread only covers a few months too. We had quite a few awesome titles before the GOTW thread was started. Great effort maintaining that thread weekly though.
