Yeah, that's what I thought too when I saw the list! MC3 doesn't get my vote due to IAP multiplayer, IB2 doesn't get my vote due to bugs, and GTA 3 is meh for me after playing them all on console. So, I voted for Mage gauntlet! Personally, I agree with undeadcow. The voting started too early. The December games didn't have enough time to really maturate at all IMO. Especially the indie ones. Why not just vote the first or second week of January?
Odd enough, of the 10 games up there, Junk Jack was nominated the least, yet it is getting the most votes.
Oh man I missed nominations so can't complain, but none of my top three are up there. Out of the list, I chose SB:S&S. BTW, the thread title should read TouchArcaders' (plural possesive) rather than TouchArcader's (singular possesive).
I was torn between Dead Space, Modern Combat 3 and GTA 3. Modern Combat 3 is great, but didn't really exceed my expectations and I don't really like the controls as much as MC2. GTA 3 is also another great game, but a port of a 10 year old game that I've played before so it doesn't really feel worthy of iOS GOTY. So I voted for Dead Space in the end. The combination of it's excellent graphics, creepy atmosphere, great controls and overall polish make it my iOS game of the year.

(don't tell anyone I was severely tempted to criticize as well) EDIT: I think you meant nominations....lol Just thought I'd leave this here: In my opinion this would be the best way to judge. I've spent 25+ hours in MC3, and I'll be playing it much, much more. I don't think I'll spend more time in IB2 (then again, I did play the first one about 100 hours, so I may) than MC3, but I voted for IB2 because of it's polish, shine, and innovative gameplay. I'm very sure this is the same way the TA staff judged, which is why I can see how S&S won.
I realize it probably won't win, and I forgot to nominate, but BATTLEHEART!!!! Everyone seems to forget what a great game it was. It hasn't gotten updated as much as I had hoped for with new content, but I think it's still a very very good game. IB2 was just too bugged for me, never played Junk Jack, Dead Space and MC3 were both good but I stopped after one playthrough on DS and MC3 had IAP multiplayer, so I had to go with BH.
actually ive been a bit disappointed with this years games, wished id enjoyed S&S more but it didnt really grow on me as much as the hype made out. sadly i have to plump for a 10 year old port of a classic in gta3, sry anyways, everything i bought was eclipsed by imame for me, what a gift that was!
