I'm really disappointed to see mc3 with only 16 votes... Sure it has its problems, but no other game has brought me such a huge level of addiction and I've played multiplayer for about 140 hours. No other game has that good multiplayer with thousands of players, lots of weapons and ranks. Damn I hope it does better.
It's not a rip off! I honestly dont understand how you can even think that it's a rip off. Just because you craft in a game doesn't mean it's a rip off of minecraft. If JJ is a rip off of minecraft, than minecraft is a rip off of infiriminer.
I never could get into Minecraft and I didn't think Junk Jack would be something I would like but I ended up buying it and I love it. Out of the games listed for this pole I definitely say Junk Jack is the top of the bunch, and I actually own all of the games in the pole.
Though my vote goes to Sword & Sworcery, I would like to express my opinion regarding Junk Jack. As I never played crafting games before, I tried Minecraft Pocket Lite and Junk Jack LE when they were released. My personal impression is that Junk Jack is not a rip-off. I personally like to say that "crafting" is a genre of its own with similar gameplay. Junk Jack to Minecraft is like Mage Gauntlet to Zelda or Dead Space to Resident Evil. And hey, MC3 is similar to CoD and even Jetpack Joyride is similar to Tiny Wings upside down (if you think further about it). Therefore, making Junk Jack with character and 2D environment is a creativity that shares similarity with other candidates. Notes: After I tried both lites, surprisingly I was not interested in Minecraft but I was hooked on Junk Jack and though it's not my top ten choice, I finally bought it and I love it!!
Well the thing about Minecraft Pocket Edition is that it is missing both the mine and the craft. (and the monsters,...)
I'm surprised to see Junk Jack in the lead. I tried the lite version and didn't like it at all. I love minecraft, but I didn't enjoy Junk Jack at all. I found the controls annoying, the menus/crafting too complicated and the gameplay not all that fun. I can see why other people would like it, but I myself much prefer the three dimensional world of minecraft. Also, are all the votes being checked? I'm just a little suspicious that some of the games might have received extra votes from shill accounts made by developers.
It's the same for me. I tryed Junk Jack and just couldn't enjoy it. For me none of these games (this type of game I mean) can beat the real, original Minecraft on the PC/Mac (It is avaiblable for macs, right?).
-"Good call, HelperMonkey." -"Thanks, HelperMonkey." -"You must be smart AND handsome." -"Right again." -"Let's make out." -"I think that would be both impossible AND pathetic..." -"Definitely. ...Let's roll." -"Oh, crap. I've swallowed my tongue and died." -"Yup. But worth it." -"Right again."
http://www.appolicious.com/games/articles/10508-best-iphone-games-of-2011 Pretty good list from Yahoo, lol.
Damn Junk Jack in the lead?! Pretty surprising. I bought Junk Jack and played for a little but it just got to complicated and doesn't really explain to much. It doesn't give a proper tutorial. I definitely think Superbrothers deserves the trophy. Amazing blend of music and art to create a gaming experience that has never been done before.
Way To Go Junk Jack I voted for Junk Jack before reading the thread, so I was quite surprised to see it in the lead after I cast my vote. I have nearly every game on that list and they are all excellent. Junk Jack got my vote because it's an underdog and I have enjoyed it more than the others. Perhaps that you build your own world(s) in a Minecraft genre iOS game that was built from the ground up for the platform. Its full featured and I can lose myself in it for hours. The lack of a tutorial or any directions at launch was something I actually enjoyed. Instead of guidelines and boundaries I was dropped on a world, tossed a shovel and had to figure out what I wanted to do with it. Anyone who hasn't given it a try and enjoys sandbox type games should try Junk Jack. Although Infinity Blade II defines iOS gaming and Battleheart creates the atmosphere of an MMO without the headache of interacting with trolls or requiring connectivity, Junk Jack was simply the most fun for me. On a side note, I am really looking forward to Mika Mobile doing with Battleheart 2 what they did with Zombieville USA 2. It could be my top choice for 2012.
I see Yahoo is stepping their game up. Worst joke ever. But that is a good list. But my favorite list for the 2nd year in a row now is TouchGen's. They don't miss anything.
