Best of wishes, whatever the situation may be. Jetpack Joyride provided a distraction for me through a tough time as well.
Nothing too serious. Just a little "procedure" apparently. Don't worry though the procedure is not for a few weeks. And I am sure the countless games on my iPad and TA will get me through the health troubles I have.
Out of these 10 games, Jetpack Joyride easily ate up 10x more of my time compared to all the rest of the others COMBINED (didnt get to to try atleast half of the nominations though)
In terms of gaming hours MC3 is easily the winner. By space miles I mean. I sunk over 140 hours into the multiplayer+of course the campaign that I went through few times.
Just took the time to finish Infinity Blade II up. I feel like I definitely made the right choice voting it as my GOTY now. Really splendid. Didn't have any issues with the game save the crashes on the 4th gen. before the first update. Will probably go ahead and beat the game on the iPad 2 in the coming days as well.
Heheh, onto the next game! It's a good feeling when you finish one, lol. Edit: Just realized what I need to finish. Got through 2/3 of Mage Gauntlet, and forgot to play the rest. Just remembered. Damn, it's been over two months.
Ascension, 162thousand views here and doesn't make it to the list, because it's a "niche" title.......
AppZapp nailed it. On the news part on the app they made all sorts of lists, Top Paid/Free Apps and also Top Free Games and now they released Top Paid Games and DAMN. That list had 103 games so it covers all of the best games! Edit: There are games that are released before 2011 though! Edit2: nvm, too many games that aren't released on 2011 and they actually missed quite a lot... Good list though
For me, this would be my lists for GOTYs: Best Racer: Sonic Racing (RU: NONE) Best Arcade Racer: Death Rally (RU: Reckless Getaway) Best Platformer: League of Evil (RU: Sonic CD) Best 3D Endless Runner: TempleRun (RU: NONE) Best 2D Endless Runner: Jetpack Joyride (RU: Haunted Hallway) Best Fighter: SF IV Volt (RU: King of Fighters) Best Single Player Shooter: Shadowgun (RU:----) Best Multiplayer Shooter: MC3 (RU: NONE) Best Sports Game: FIFA 12 (RU: NBA Jam/Elite [ELITE got pulled]) Best Board Game: Quarrel Deluxe (RU: Conquist 2) Best Casual Game: Tiny Wings (RU: Amazing Breaker) Best Freemium: Slam Dunk King (RU: Tiny Tower) Best Creativity: Scribblenauts (RU: Junk Jack) Best Crafter: Junk Jack (RU: Minecraft: PE) Best Music: Groove Coaster (RU: Baby Monkey [okay that music is just amazing, Parry Grip is awesome] Best Strategy: Anomaly WarZone Earth (RU: Shake Spears [ok it's more arcady jousting, but it's in my strategy folder ] Best Use of Touch Controls: Draw Race 2 (RU: Flick games by FullFat) Best Biker: Bike Baron (RU: Flip Riders) Best 2D Shooter: Rocket Riot (RU: Doodle Army 2) Best Genre Blend: Quarrel Deluxe (RU: Sleepy Jack) Best Non-Genre: Glowfish Game #5 Scribblenauts Game #4 Temple Run Game #3 League of Evil Game #2 Death Rally Game #1 Sonic racing That's my list, my opinions from me. Hope someone thinks the list is decent!
Well, if I had to pick from one of those games that are already on the poll, I'd choose Junk Jack because it really is the best all around. Albeit a few initial caveats that people encountered when it was first released, the game has grown into a fine title - true, iconic example of what you can find on the App Store and nowhere else with the same amount of love and charm. The controls were executed perfectly even with the amount of functions that can be performed, and the potential of JJ is essentially endless with the cumulative help of updates and support from the developers. The replay value is immense: so many things to craft, places to explore, things to see/do - again, immense. I doubt you all would want to listen to be blabber on, but out of the games that are up there, my decision of picking Junk Jack remains; although I could think of a whole lot more games which I would prefer more but aren't currently listed on the poll. Just my 2 cents -- well, my whole wallet...
Mage Gauntlet Nothing kept my attention and desire to pick up my ipad like MG did this year. From quality graphics to a challenging, yet high enjoyable fighting/dungeon crawling experience, it was truly a gem. If not that, I'd vote for Monsters Ate My Condo or Piyo Blocks 2, as I enjoy the puzzle/strategy genre a lot.
Good to see Bike Baron in someone's list. I have sunk in the most time in that game this year. Not to say I think it's "better" a game than S&S or Dead Space or Anomaly Warzone or Jetpack Joyride... but it sure kept me engaged the most. Of all things, that probably means the most to me. Actually, we should just start a thread for people to list one GOTY for themselves, per person, and see what sort of games actually come up.
