Appshopper shows that it came on 15 November. Don't know why everybody miss that as best of last year. It definitely one of my top favorites.
Jetpack Joyride. I have no idea why that's up there. I mean, I get that it's popular but I had a lot more fun playing Monster Dash, which I bought a day earlier. a select few up there could have been up for TA's 'Top Marketing of the Year' awards.
I feel like that game didn't get noticed until 2011. It was sort of this sleeper when it was released and then exploded into an addiction. TECHNICALLY - since it did not get reviewed by TA until Jan 21, we could make a case (too late now) that in the same way that their games of the month are categorized by their review date and not their release date then it COULD HAVE been a 2011 game. But that's splitting hairs - more games on my top ten actually made it to the poll than I thought would, so I am good with that.
Muffin Knight is my favourite of the year and wasn't mentioned by Toucharcade frontpage even in passing, despite the game's cross platform popularity and the pedigree of the developers. Tiny Wings I have mad respect for, I still remember the shock I had when it stormed to the top of the charts solely on word of mouth. In addition, Squids, Gesundheit, King of Fighters, Battleheart, Anomaly, Death Rally, Monster Shooter, Pigs In Trees, Fruit Ninja Puss In Boots, Sprinkle, Dead Space, NBA Jam, Flick Golf and Where's My Water fill out my favorite iOS games of 2011.
Lmao. Btw, I was playing Team Fortress 2 last night and there was a guy named SirAwesome, and I thought it was you. I asked him if he was on TA and he replied with "what the hell is TA?".
One thing I think we can agree on is that S&S has the best music of any game for iOS. I can't even think of anything that comes close.
Good to see I am not the only one suspicious about Junk Jack.... At the moment there isn't even a iPad version, so how it's become more popular than half the games on the list has left me clueless.
