Agreed! Avatar is problem the best game on the Appstore in my opinion (that's right, better than NOVA).
I'll chime in with "iPirate".Surprisingly good game that came out of nowhere. "Fozwot" - has excellent controls and a unique gameplay and art style. "Aera" - The most beautiful 3D graphics on the iDevice. "Fly Control" - seems to have received little attention but in my opinion one of the best line drawing games as of late. some others: Auto Trafego Cannons Droplitz Ocean Hunters Textropolis Sphaira

Still feel that NanoFighter got a little overlooked in the dual-stick genre. And Hook Champ, though I don't know if that qualifies as underrated. It is awesome.
copy and paste response. I'd wager the vast majority of good games on the app store are underrated. Like finding a needle in a hay stack really. We here are obviously are the pulse of the community so it's easier to find good games for us, but we are such a small segment of the market.

the raging dead is actually a really fun game to play around with. I don't know why nobody is talking about it.... probably the $2.99 price tag.
UM Aurora Feint, iDracula, Sword of Fargoal, Stanch Defense and from what i've been reading (for a while now) TNA must be the most overrated underrated game.
