Finally got around to playing KOTOR... The game is so damn good. With that, XCOM, a whole mess of other "big name" games and a slew of the smaller releases, there's hardly anything else I'm looking for any more. Tiny Thief, FTL and then there's nothing else coming up for me... Is that sad?
Of course not. That's kind of how it is with iOS. With the amount of releases left and right, in due time there'll be things you're excited for, they'll come out, you'll feel there's nothing left, lather, rinse, repeat...
Well that's the thing! Up till now, there was ALWAYS something on the horizon that I was really excited for. There was Baldur's Gate, Phoenix Wright, Warhammer Quest, Frozen Synapse, KOTOR, XCOM, etc etc etc. Now, everything has come out and I have it and play it and it's amazing, but... There's hardly anything on the upcoming list for me now. Sure there are games I'll get and play when they come up (League of Evil 3, etc) but nothing that I'm really hyped about. And of the two games I'm really looking forward to, one hasn't even been confirmed for iOS. Hopefully with the release of Icebreaker, Tiny Thief is next on the list.
No love for the upcoming sci-fi Ravensword 2-ish Exiles? Howzabout the re-release of Black Dawn? Dungelot 2, Monster Adventures, Asphalt 8, MC5, Deus Ex, Bloodmasque? There are others, but we know that the devs of the titles i mentioned are more reliable when they say it's coming than most other devs.
Exiles seems to be a LONG way away, and I still haven't played Ravensword 2, despite buying it on release. Still have the original Black Dawn, unplayed. The next 4 don't tickle my fancy, I tend to stay away from shooters on iOS, Asphalt I'll give a chance but I'm not hyped for it. Deus Ex I have mild hopes for, slipped my mind, and Bloodmasque... I don't know much about it (didn't read any previews) but from the attitude of the staff at the E3 booth (in the TA podcast a week ago) I don't have very high expectations of it... Guess I'll add The Shadow Sun to that list. (I'm PRETTY sure that's the right name... ) Oceanhorn too, come to think of it. Scraping the barrel for things here, but maybe things aren't as bleak as I thought!
Well there's a hitman title on the horizon as I stated on my previous post..Made from scratch into mobile..Ofcourse there's still the DeusEx game..The entirety of Square's Montreal Studio will focus mainly on mobile titles... For me the advent of Xcom and the rest of the big bunch is merely the beginning...The market has responded and has responded well,the devs are now looking into our place..There is a vast market for serious gamers on iOS,the numbers do not lie..
War of the Zombie has been confirmed for June 27th release. It is a real time strategy game with resource management in the form of a global aircraft carrier assault team simulation. I beta tested it so can say it's a good game. Edit: Corrected typo, release is June 27th.
