Just wondering if anybody plays games on their iPhone/iPod Touch more than a console. I own a Xbox 360, but I've come to a point where I'll only play a game on it if it's something I really want to play. At times I find myself using my iPod Touch more than the 360 when I'm home.
I bought a wii and took it back after a week. I stopped playing consoles heavily at ps2 & xbox. I guess I hit the age where ps2 and xbox 360 just didn't really hold my interest, as every game became almost the samething (from a handfull of genres only in a different skin). I was really happy to see the AppStore and I'm glad these title are getting more console like. I can keep any game on the device, or just download it. Not to mention it's my phone so I have it all the time, and that's way more convieneint cause I don't have time to devote to console gaming a I'm not the only one living in my home either.
I use more my iPod Touch than my Ex-Wii, My Ex-NDS and My Ex-PSP (Sold'em all, bought a PS3) Why? Well, Most of Nintendo Consoles have Crappy/Children Games... That's not for me... and the PSP... I've never really loved Sony (But the PS3 is other Story, hehe...) And well the iPod Touch is... TOUCHABLE!! I mean, you can do everything with your iPod, I bet you can't drive your car with a PSP or Nintendo DS But I consider that people who compares iPod Touch with Xbox360 and PS3 are ... Crazynuts
I agree. An iPod Touch could never replace a dedicated gaming console, just like I would never use my Xbox360 as a portable media device. I just put about 30 hours into Modern Warfare 2 in the last couple of weeks before it got boring, so when there's a good game I'm willing to put in the time to play it. It's just that games I find interesting are becoming few and far between. I'm busy these days, so the iPod Touch provides me with a ton of cheap but fun games that give me a quick gaming fix. I owned a Wii, but sold it. It sat in the closet longer than it was connected to the TV. I had high hopes for Nintendo, but they delivered a toy instead of a console. It's disheartening since I'm 28 and have been gaming since before the Nintendo was released back in the mid-80s.
It's actually kinda down the middle. I just got back into my console games after playing Tony Hawk's Underground again... So I'm really split, but with the purchase of Monkey Island, Beneath a Steel Sky, Skater Nation, and COD: Zombies I keep playing games on my iPod until the battery hits 10%. After Christmas it's going to lean towards the consoles a bit more though. I'm getting Assassin's Creed 2 and Call of Duty 4 Reflex (hopefully) so I think I'll be playing those ALOT.
I do spend more time on the idevice because of the convenience factor. But I find that I enjoy playing on my console (xbox 360) more...
You're Nuts Right? It goes: PS3>360>iPod Touch>Wii>DS I don't know how the Hell could you put the iPod Touch First than the 360, If I show you a Graphic of FPS and Graphic Quality of MW2 between a 360, the 360 obviousbly has advantadge. and the 360 has way more games with better quality than the PS3 and Stuff... But why is the PS3 relatively better than the 360? Well that's simple, the PS3 has 1 Core who manages 6 other cores, which are able to process differents processes at once, like One Core for the Graphics, another for the Sound, etc... The problem of the PS3 having separate cores is that it's hard for programmers to adapt it to have smooth Graphics... at the Beginning it was hard to get Smooth Graphics from the PS3 (That's why Valve quitted on developping for the Plataform) but now it's getting each time easier as science evolves, eventually the PS3's Cores will be Fully Exploitable, reaching it's 100% and then Overpass the Xbox360 (As this one has already reached it's maximum) and that's the Reason of why GoW3 will be only released on PS3. Going back to the iPod Touch, any Desktop Console beats it, except the Wii, which has a retarded developpement, as it has no HD system, and the Titles are mostly Childish, then goes the NDS, which is obviousbly less potent than the iPhone. By The Way, I'm abstaining from voting in this Poll until the Creator splits the "Consoles" Option into "Portable Consoles" and "Desktop Consoles".
I have a wii but i play my iPhone 10 times more. The wii gets kinda boring after a week. iPhone and touches FTW!
PHAIL. He's talking about God of war 3. I play my console (PS3) more than my iPod Touch. As a matter of fact I don't even touch my iPod Touch anymore, it's obsolete now. I played so much PS3 last week and earned 40 trophies or more.
