8 characters confirmed, including Bison & Abel. Capcom sux... No Cammy, no Vega = I am not buying. Oh, yeah... and SF will be pulled from App Store in 1 - 2 weeks...
You won't buy it cause it doesn't have 2 characters that you want? Good luck with that, I see a lot of bile and hate on these forums from people who are too quick to throw their toys out of the pram simply cause developers haven't pandered to their exact needs, my guess is you will buy it straight away cause it's obvious your a fan (why else would you throw such a childish fit cause 2 characters you like aren't included in the starting line up?) stop kidding yourself that you will be able to resist, oh and why the he'll would it be pulled from the AppStore in 1 or 2 weeks? Please enlighten us...
yeah, I'll be first in line to download this. I would be hard pressed to not buy if they charged even $15. How can I say no to a portable version (even edited down) when I went to the trouble to build 2 custom sticks for the PC version.
Well, first: no, I won't buy it. I already have the PC version and because my favourite characters I am most skilled in ARE Cammy and Vega, I better enjoy it on PC until there is a character pack available for my iPhone. Second: Chun Li is wearing a thong and showing it.
Well I also own the ps3 version which is displayed on my 42" LCD 1080p tv and as a controller I use my 2 player x arcade tankstick so I'd say that I pretty much have the definitive home setup short of actually owning an arcade streetfighter 4 cabinet, I also prefer to use akuma over the characters included in the iPhone lineup but is any of this gonna stop me buying it on day 1? Of course not, owning a port of streetfighter 4 for your phone is gonna be an amazing experience and I defy any fan not to hit the buy button as soon as it hits the app store and that includes you. As for the chun li thong thing, apple will be doing everything in their power to accomodate capcom for bestowing such an important franchise on their device not trying to put a spanner in the works cause some pre pubescent boys are getting excited over a video game characters underwear.
Tehra has a thong, and the game has not been removed. Daisy Mae is back in the App Store. It looks like Apple is approaching its puritanical campaign with at least some degree of nuance, if not outright hypocrisy (Sports Illustrated, Playboy, both still in the App Store). So, no, I don't expect SF4 will be removed. BTW, according to Capcom, the definitive home version is the PC one. From Wikipedia:
I think the key word in my post was "setup" as in "home setup", Im talking about the complete package here and not a version of a game with a few extra graphics modes thrown in just to appease the fact that it came out later. I'd much rather sit in the comfort of my lounge playing it than hunched over my pc playing on a smaller monitor than my tv but that's my personal opinion.
Fair enough -- I just remember reading that tidbit and made the connection with your comment. I usually game on a laptop, so the difference you mention is even more stark. Sadly, taking over a TV set with a console is not an option in my house.
Aw damn, no Cammy or Sakura. Oh well, Chun-Li will have to suffice. I had difficulty judging the controls as the person looked like he/she was button mashing. I'm assuming the video was on a 3GS, looks pretty smooth, hopefully the performance won't be too bad on a 2G.
I feel for you! Anyway back to the real discussion, this game is gonna rock and everyone that has the funds is gonna buy it straight away (come on, you know you are! )
First: the Chun Li comment was sarcasm toward Apple. I see it was wasted. Second: Hunched over PC? I really don't know what you're talking about... 26'er Samsung Widescreen Monitor, 5.1 Dolby Surround System and three controllers to choose from: Logitech RumblePad 2, original Sony PS2 with adapter, original Nintendo controller with adapter.
Ah i must have had a sarcasm bypass today, sorry. And just to clarify, I wasn't reffering to YOUR setup at home with regards to your PC, I was reffering to mine... I much prefer the comfort of my lounge for gaming, as an example ive included a screenshot of the view from my sofa...[/IMG]
Now, that's a man who takes fighting games seriously! Personally, I just hope that the game is fun. I'm not really expecting -- or that interested in -- a recreation of the arcade experience. From the videos, it seems like I will get my wish.
Can we agree that I'll buy it on a sale or when the character packs are released? oh, btw, some years ago I was the owner of this baby: I had to sell it two years later (because I moved and had no use this time for it), but it nearly broke my heart.
Ok it's a deal (but if you cave in and buy it straight away you have to tell me I was right!) Wow that must have been hard to part with, I still play MKII loads on MAME with the aid of the tankstick, it is my prefered version of the game, would love to have the space for a proper arcade cab but just not practical living where I do!
