i thought there would be some news or gameplay or some new info on release date cause on the website in their forums it says to be ready for saturday but thats gone now and nothing new
Just about every console game runs at 30 FPS. Call of Duty doesn't, and look how bad its graphics are.
On their indiedb profile, it says it's scheduled to come out July 1st. They could just be busy working, or it could be something serious. I really hope this is the case, as I was really looking forward to this game.
Yes, but I'm trying not to get too exited in case it gets delayed again. It was due out "May 2011" but then got pushed back.
I want to thank all of you guys for the comments and questions, most have to do with iOS media and release dates so I will attempt to give some info on that. (without getting in trouble ) iOS media: That's an interesting topic. There is sort of a balance between level of completion and techniques of acquiring the media. I have personally taken over 250 photos of an actual device running warm gun trying to find the perfect lighting conditions, reflection angles, exposures and whatnot, we're also testing getting actual screenshots from the device itself. But more important then actually getting the media is getting it at the right time of the games completion. Screenshots really require at least a mostly finalized UI/HUD system and for us personally that was a lower priority then other development efforts. We have just recently done a good pass on the UI and media efforts are moving forward. Release Dates: iOS will be the first to release and PC will come later. Any date we have displayed on sites like indiedb are lose but definitely a goal. We may finish iOS this month, maybe next, we may hit some major roadblock and it could be the month after, its really hard to tell but we are in the final stages and things are moving along every day. I can agree with Joe that 'soon' we will have something for you guys. I do not want to give any concrete dates though. I would love for you guys to stop by our forums and bug the hell out of us. More the better! http://www.warmgungame.com/community/ Thanks for your time! -Dennis -Warm Gun -Lead Artist PS: Add me on game center so when the time does come I can have a nice list of people to whoop on! (dennisglowacki(at)gmail.com) And you just may get a special achievement in the process.
Ever since I caught wind of this game, I've been wondering if the iOS and the PC versions will be functionally and mechanically identical, or nearly so. I have no expectations that the graphics will be of equal quality, but I would gladly play a game looking like Quake 1 (hell, Doom 1, even ) on my iPhone if it offered cross-platform with the incredibly much more attractive PC version, and offered exactly the same gameplay and features In the case of Warm Gun, I'd gladly pay a premium price, indie-PC-style, 10, 20 or more dollars, to play a less graphically appealing version of the game I'm seeing in the trailers, but on my iPhone
Cool, thanks for the update Dennis! Really looking forward to this. Warm Gun and Contre Jour are my two most anticipated iOS games. PS, I've sent you a Game Center friend invite from Aces High. Peace out.
Hmm, I was under the impression upon reading this thread way back when that an ios release is still very far off. Glad to hear it is a priority. I am definitely excited for this one.
@Ayjona: Graphics are better then quake and doom for sure. and I think identical would be a strong word for functionality and mechanics between iOS and PC. @injuwarrior: Yes iOS has our full priority @bebo_beta2002: I personally wouldn't trust any release date you see. haha, Shame on us. I'm not in charge of release date putage unfortunately. Yes I said putage. Could we be done by July 1st, yeah its very possible. I'm sure the apple review process will delay past that date though.
pretty close though I think, and Im sure we will draw from stuff we've added to iOS and put it on PC just like we took what we had on PC and put it on iOS.
