The egg obviously came first- dinosaurs laid eggs millions of years before chickens did. If you specified "chicken egg," I would not have just won this thread.
I think it's pretty obvious the question doesn't specifically mean chickens, but it's merely used as a way of saying "which came first, the egg, or the creature that lays the corresponding egg" I'm sure you were just being pedantic, but some noob is bound to read it and agree with you before too long.
On a similar note, do you prefer eating chickens or eating eggs? Nothin like fried chicken in my opinion.
Truth be told, it's scientifically proven that the Chicken came first. The eggs need a certain enzyme to be created which only the chicken contains. No need to thank me
