I don't think they're doing anything different than other game developer might do. Really, how many categories of games are their nowadays anyway? I'm playing Dungeon Hero quite a bit nowadays. Yes, it is a lot like Diablo - which is one of the reasons I like it so much. I'm guessing Blizzard won't do a Diablo for iPhone. So, given the choice, I'd rather someone, Gameloft, releases a "Diablo-clone" than not.
So, how do I feel about Gameloft? Hmm.. It's a tricky one. I use to love them, back when Hero Of Sparta, BIA, and GT were new and cool. And I loved them up until Rockstar announced Chinatown Wars for the iDevice. I now realize that the iDevice is going bigger places a little bit faster than I thought. I might get Sandstorm and BoF, maybe Nova and Asphalt 5, but besides that, Most the games I'm looking into now are not from Gameloft. They may be getting better, but so is the appstore.
I like gameloft bc they are raising the bar for mobile gaming, they make this phone worth it in the gaming aspect
I loved gameloft's mobile phone games (pub mania got me hooked) and I'm glad they started developing iphone games! New york nights: success in the city anyone? I'm crazy about simulation games.
Hit and Miss for me. While I like the majority of their games, most of them feel way to generic. I know almost all games are clones of other games, but most of those clones inject their own style of content and character. Gameloft... not so much.
even though they are making games similar to other popular games, and the fact that they dont update, wont stop me from getting their games. i mean most of them are really fun
think terminator is more like terminator salvation for ps2 xbox360 ps3 not gears of war. But otherwise this is true. They are the most proffesional iPhone game developers and have cost me 50 bucks. I wonder why you asked ths though? What do u get out of this thread?
