+1 for Super Smash Bros... if a game was made with same principle with easy to use touch control, and multiplayer, I can bet it would be #1 in the AppStore in no time at all, especially if the developer made a high quality game and didn't half-ass it.
We need more games like Ace Combat! (The iPod version isn't that great, but it is IMO the best we have in the AppStore right now... and has been for ages. )
In general, I would like to see more tycoon games. Specifically I would LOVE to see a Rollercoaster Tycoon game (Modeled after Rollercoaster Tycoon 1 or Roller coaster Tycoon 2)
Tactics Ogre, FFT type of SRPG games. I know FFT's coming. I really like Hills and Rivers Remain, and would like to see more like it. Galcon Labs is fun but just not the same. GameDev Story type of games. It fits the phone well.
Like has already been said, a decent tycoon game in the spirit of Transport Tycoon/Theme Park/Theme Hospital would be cool. More decent RTS games (only 1 real good one on appstore at the moment) Turn based strategy wargame with some depth (like Advance Wars) Something like RebelStar/XCOM
Magic The Gathering - or other type of turn-based card games It exists on everything else now, Xbox, PS3, PC and for the DS there are the kid's Yu-Gi-Oh games. The iPad with it's touch control lends itself to be the ultimate device for this type of game. Multiplayer would be a must.
I second the RTS comments! I've downloaded The Settlers and the Command & Conquer game hoping for something as awesome as Rise of Nations or Age of Empires. PLEASE! This just makes sense!
All kind of strategy games, from RTS to tycoon-type of games. Easily the most untapped genre in the app store, which is "funny" as this is is the genre the platform (especially the iPad) is best suited for.
I agree with this completely. When I saw an article that Desktop Tower Defense was getting ported to the iOS, I was really excited. Now, it seems the project has been scrapped (or probably never took off).
I won't be truly happy until I can play Magic: The Gathering on the ipad. Other than that, more board games - stuff like the Small World app will make me happy.
Not played it myself, but Orions: Legend of Wizards is supposed to be good. There is a sequel on the way (apparently). Some people on this forum are upset by the dev's lack of commitment/updates though. This game is terrible!! iPad badly needs decent RTS games, the screen is perfect for them. Red Conquest is the only half-decent one available at the moment (in my opinion).
